I’ll have one from the top, and two from the middle please Carol
Em, sorry Rachel.
That is a thing of beauty
The wheelchair winner only gets €500 whereas the runner gets €10,000. Far too much of a gap there. They need to close that up a lot and give wheelchair winners more recognition.
Is this a wheelchair winner who whooshes him/herself along with hands on wheels, or a wheelchair winner pushed by a runner? If the former, maybe they should get the €10,000 and the runners should get the €500?
Watched them up at Crumlin Hospital. Great atmosphere. There’s a real feel-good factor for runners and spectators alike. Especially spectators…
More so for runners, they amount of people cheering you on, giving kind words and generally picking you up; it’s amazing the boost spectators give.
Lucozade is rotten, sugary syrup and very dangerous for you
Running a marathon is worse
Ah now that’s not true Don, for some of us its the only way to stay sane
We were designed to run for our lives so looking fit is a sign of survival. But urban centers where the ground is rock hard damages joints so it is not healthy.
Find some other way to stay ‘sane’.
Nope depends on your running form.. if you land on the correct part of your foot , you will not damage your joints. Also gradual build up and strengthening ligaments etc around the joints is ideal. Injury is bad prep under or over training or the wrong shoe for your gait nothing to do with hard surfaces. Check out Born to run by Christopher McDougal.
Stay sane another way ? Running is adictive once you are hooked it’s toooooo late !
Run on grass, preferably on golf course grass.
No grass where I live, that’s an auld holiday luxury. Honestly though do your research serious well prepped running doesn’t need to hurt and offers so many benifits it out weights the trial and error of getting it right.
…that’s what happened you the last time?
:)
