Dr Julien Mercille

It’s Monday.

BUT no Mercille on Monday?

What gives?

Dreamboat Monday columnist Dr Julien Mercille will return after Xmas. He wishes all Broadsheet readers a happy holiday except for the elites.

Swoon.

A fresh “Sinn Fein don’t give a flupp about our laws and legal institutions” scandal and coincidentally Julien decides to go on sabbatical. Nice timing.

@Owen & Clampers: The electorate has a short collective memory: come the GE, a political party representing active murderers, paedophiles and racketeers will probably be a kingmaker in the next government of this republic. This is the moral atrocity that lies in wait for the short-sighted voter.

Do you think the blushirts and labour would examine themselves to see how they made themselves soo untrusted by the electorate that sf are still seen as vote-worthy?? Neah, sociopaths like enda kenny can’t see them, selves doing wrong.

How can you tell? You throw it around in almost every post. The more you use it the more it becomes background noise.

      2. Kolmo

Moral atrocity? The State and long before the founding of this republic has been run on the basis of moral atrocities – Land clearances, emigration, cannon-fodder, the many, many horrors of the church controlled state, generations of social neglect, an extremely conservative political class, recent outright criminality of the financial class, ideological retardation of civil state services to monetise/privatise them and hand over contracts to greasy associates.
Moral atrocity is not what you think it is.

        1. Clampers Outside!

A second wave of moral atrocity then… to be brought upon us by the Shinners?

They wont change anything, they have their own cronies to protect.

It’ll be SocDems and Indies and Greens for me! …although there’ll be no SocDems in my jurisdiction so I’ll be left with Indie and Green and Abtep

20 years + since the ceasefires, things have moved on immeasurably, except for elements within the Indo and Wllie Frazer-type worldviews.

          2. Neilo

@Kolmo: I agree 100% that there’s been a lot of progress since the ceasefires – not so much with the Willie Frasers, perhaps – but as long as the SF operating manual tips more towards the Armalite than the ballot box, they may continue to expect stinging criticism.

    Does he have’ta?

    Come back like

    Mondays around here are poo
Pure backdurt once his gig gets hoisted up
The lad gets to control the contributions -cycle around here for a whole day

So all the other threads wither

Same goes for the other regulars
    Doyle and McNally

Have ye noticed a drop off lately Broadsheet?
    Dere’s your reason

    1. Anne

Is there a drop off? Hadn’t noticed.

I like Anne-Marie’s posts and Julien’s .. Not gone on the other fella’s writing so don’t really read his stuff.

They get a lot of reponses, I doubt that means other threads ‘wither’ because of that.
Those other threads mightn’t have gotten many responses anyway.

      1. Frilly Keane

        Each ta’ there own
        N’all that

But when Boyle McNally and Dr J have anything new up, they control the dialogue for the following 24hr cycle around here
That’s not why I follow Broadsheet

So I don’t bother me whole with them
        Or this place
        When its their day-turn

like I said each ta’ their own

  3. Tish Mahorey

Blueshirts, AKA Young Fine Gaelers still come on and post despite there being no article to try and undermine.

Proof that they are a bunch of suited bots all doing their UCD Quinn MBAs to ready themselves for exploitation of the human race.

Monetize, exploit, tax dodge, lie, cheat….

        1. ReproBertie

Is that a yes? It explains a lot really. All this anti-blushirt stuff is clearly fuelled by self loathing.

Just walk away Dav. There’s a better life out there than shilling for some political party.

          1. ReproBertie

How about going out with some friends (assuming you have some outside of your Young Fine Gael slave quarters), forgetting all about your love for Enda and just enjoying yourself?

    1. Neilo

You won’t get too much change slagging Lochlann Quinn. His former company, Glen Dimplex, continues to employ hundreds if not over a thousand people in good quality manufacturing jobs in this country. Little scope for exploitation there, unless a paid contract of employment is tantamount to slavery.
