Oh please, enough of this sentimental love of the Irish Mammy’s old favourites churned out as mediocre at best ‘illustrations’.

Everyone cashing in on a Rising which was to free the country from parasites.

I’ll see your ire of prints and illustrations, and raise you €15 a head for the Shinner cash raising ‘Revolution 1916’ at the top of O’Connell Street. €15 a head, and to run for 8 months of this year.

It’s the most cynical cash-in / money making propaganda exercise (a ‘Nationalist’ perspective, they say) of them all, in fairness.

The fawning over 1916 in this country is cultlike, who gives a shit about a minor spat back 100 years ago – spinning in their graves etc

They GAA have also announced that they putting on talks about 1916. They are charging a tenner for talks that you can see/hear at libraries around Dublin (and probably beyond) for free if you do a little bit of research.

You’ve got to love the amount of money being made off that Scottish eejit tied to the chair. He would have loved the rampant capitalism of it all.
