The oddness of the SF position.

We think FG and FF are terrible for this country. But we think they should go into government together for the next four years.

Pull out your collective ballsa@k, man the f@&k up and go into coalition. Because if ye don’t then it just shows you up for what ye really are. A party that only cares about itself , is always only looking to the next election and doesn’t two sh@%ts about the electorate who gave ye a vote.

    1. some old queen

So by that logic, FF and FG who have the same political ideology have no reason to not to go into government together either? I was talking to a guy yesterday who said there should be another election to FORCE people to decide. It was a casual conversation but the underlying arrogance was blinding. SF will make a dire mistake if they chase the carrot.

      Absolutely not.

      1. Steve

Yeah agree FG and FF can go into coalition together. No issue there.

My point was solely related to SF going into coalition with a fellow “republican” party FF. They have lots in common…getting rid of water charges for one. The current SF stance is too cynical and transparent.

If I hear that eoin ni braoin fella say one more time that SF can’t possibly go into collation because it won’t be able to create a socialist republic…

Btw mate. Those glasses. You’re not James Joyce.

        1. Steve

          Part 2

If SF really want “to put this country first” and “protect” this country from the destructive power of an FG/FF gov they should be chomping at the bit to form a coalition which doesn’t allow such a Ff/FG coalition to exist . Nah you’re alright lads…fire ahead…we’ll sit on the oppo benches

          1. Anne

What’s another 4/5 years in the scheme of things, when they’ve been doing that for the past 100 years as you say..

          2. Steve

Lol, hovering around 15% in the last couple of elections. Could be 40/50.

There is only one party more disappointed with the weekend than FG…yep you guessed

          3. Anne

“Lol, hovering around 15% in the last couple of elections. Could be 40/50.

There is only one party more disappointed with the weekend than FG…yep you guessed”

            I doubt they’re disappointed.
Strategically for SF, staying in opposition would be better for them in the long run.
A FF/FG coalition will see them both reduced significantly next time round.. There’s little difference between them anyway.

            What’s another 4/5 years as I said..

          4. Steve

Nah I kid about 40/50 years…who knows about 4/5 years. The adage of one week is a lifetime in politics etc etc. Please see whingers comments for case in point.

I suppose that’s my main point….strategically better for SF to stay out. They ran candidates to change the well being who voted for them NOW. People didn’t vote for them for what they might do in 5 years if some how they managed to get majority power. The lady who was hugging yer man on Claire Byrne last night is homeless NOW. She will hopefully not be homeless in 5 years. But she voted for change NOW.

It’s completely cynical and a middle finger to those people who need SF now to say “nah not even considering the prospect of coalition”.

          5. Anne

Steve you could say that for every single person elected..including all the independents. Being elected and the formation of a government and who’ll do business with whom are two separate things..

It’s a bit rich not being a SF supporter but advocating for them to go into government..
You know well they’d do much better holding out.. all you need do is look at labour.

FF & FG combining and us enduring that for however long will be the best thing for this country in the long run..IMO.

          6. Steve

Yeah I know it’s rich of me. They promised the sun, moon and the stars during the election. They are in a position to deliver the moon and a few stars, not all , but a few, as a junior coalition partner in a gov of FF, them, SDs, greens and a few indos.

I wanna see if they can do it.

            @ $teve;

            Stop obfuscating.
            NO PARTY has any mandate.

Two parties who’s opposition to each other is their biggest assets will be entertaining if they get together.

          8. Steve

Agreed. But Never mentioned the word mandate.

Only coalition….ye know…that thing which has made irish politics interesting since 1922.

            Keep up lad

          9. sǝɯǝɯʇɐpɐq

Let’s let them do their worst, eh?
            Give ’em enough rope…etc.

            I’m an optimist.
I expect them both to implode and welcome this as the first step on the road to my dream.

        2. Anne

I’d say FG and FF have more in common.

“Pull out your collective ballsa@k, man the f@&k up and go into coalition. Because if ye don’t then it just shows you up for what ye really are. A party that only cares about itself , is always only looking to the next election and doesn’t two sh@%ts about the electorate who gave ye a vote.” Indeed..

        3. some old queen

Glasses? I can only guess at who you think I am. I have no affiliation to any political party or connections to. I am on Growlr however.

          1. Anne

Unless he’s some kind of psychic, psychic steve, who can tell what sort of glasses you’re wearing..

          1. Same old same old

            Shut up Anne. Thank you.

Steve your analysis is complete nonsense. For one Sinn Fein can’t form a government on their own they don’t have the numbers

Second the other lamestream parties campaigned in the basis they would not coalesce with the Sinn Fein party. So what the actual fupp are you talking about?

Don’t be insulting our intelligence with this cant and waffle. You’re just parroting the talking points from bullies and rapist protectors like Noonan and Bruton who seem hell bent on systematically asset stripping the people of Ireland and keeping a wedge driven firmly on the side of the elites.

The people of Ireland have vehemently spoken to reject the satanic rituals of asset stripping, cronyism and austerity and will complete the job at the next election. You and your ilk will be cast into oblivion, a furtive soiling self-love-stain and footnote in the history of our nation will be our Civil war parties era. Onwards and upwards and to hell with you lot.

          2. Anne

Ah now, no need of the nastiness. We wouldn’t want to look like a hypocrite calling others around here nasty, now would we.

” For one Sinn Fein can’t form a government on their own they don’t have the numbers”

He never said that.. read it again. sloooowly.

          3. ethereal_myst

I think he is also making the point that the other parties have said they won’t deal with SF…so calling on SF to go into coalition is a bit dumb…

          4. Anne

“You and your ilk will be cast into oblivion, a furtive soiling wankstain”

            lol

Does your mammy not put a curfew time on your internets access, no?

        Watch TV this week Harry.
Watch what ‘Party before people’ works like in reality.
-When one minority isn’t enough you’re allowed to sell your soul and borrow another.

        Our two-tier Right-wing government needs, eh…..
        ‘Reform’ according to one half.
‘Everything is cool or I’ll lose me job’ according to the other.

        Fun times.

        1. sǝɯǝɯʇɐpɐq

          The rules might shift.
          The ideals wont.

Plop and Poo isn’t an option.
Why do we never see beyond that?

          Where is our alternative?

Too many of you have no balls.
In the meantime the rest of us have no voice, and we speak for you.
We care, whether you do or don’t, and you don’t, do you?

WHY is there no cohesive and consolidated LEFT in this country?
-Am I really 5yrs too early?

          1. Neilo

If you’re the point man for the left, I think those of a more centre-right persuasion can rest a little more easily at night.

    1. sǝɯǝɯʇɐpɐq

      Thank you Catherine.
As always my comment s are truncated and censored beyond their original nastiness before you see them.

I’m angrier than I seem, and I hope you are too.
      Stay angry.
Make your friends, your family, your neighbours and your taxi-driver angry too.

We are the 99%, but nobody wants us to know it.

      1. sǝɯǝɯʇɐpɐq

I sound like Paul Murphy now.
I should stop doing coke while I’m drinking.

      2. rotide

Actually judging by the election numbers you’re not the 99%

        You’re not even the 19%

      1. sǝɯǝɯʇɐpɐq

Can anyone else hear a bee?
        I can hear bees.*

*Old joke, badly executed. I don’t apologise because it hasn’t been used by anyone for ages. Get stuffed.

    1. ethereal_myst

ewww you drink diet coke…and you dare to mix it with Jack Daniels…..filth!!!

  2. Catherine McEntee

    @badatm m s

Give me angerand passion every time over resigned, indifferent, clone responses.

I’m staying angry, incedible hulk angry infact lol. Im pissed off with all the recounting in Longfond/Westmeath – Willie Penrose refuses to lie down and die and so it’s another day of this recount pantominery (spellcheck). Die dog or poo the license as an aunt of mine used to say ;-)

The recount commences at 2.30pm today. No doubt some reprobate that’s in receipt of well stuffed brown envelope will have done a bit of cooking the necessary overnight and that ball of poo will be back to racking up his expenses and unleashing his unique brand of self importance on everyone that has the misfortune to cross his path – down with that sort of thing!!!!

    Rant over
