Shouldn’t that say “Dear Ryanair, thanks for saving us from the scourge of abortion”

        1. ReproBertie

Punished for implementing a FF policy under a FG Taoiseach. Nothing to do with immortal magical beings.

        2. bisted

…so it was abortion and prayer that did for the labour party…not betraying their supporters and sacrificing principle for power and pensions…where are my beads…

          1. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

@Repro, it’s fine, didn’t you know news isn’t religious anyway, how could you possibly think he is religious?

    1. Daisy Chainsaw

“He” musn’t have listened hard enough because candidates who claim to worship him didn’t get elected. “He” was probably too busy causing women to have miscarriages. “He” does that, apparently, his will and all that.

  2. Catherine McEntee

My views on abortion are very mixed, I don’t believe in it myself but I know a couple of women that have have gone through one, not an easy thing to do in any circumstance.

When I lived in England a young woman in front of me booking a doctors’s appointment told the receptionist that she had to see the doctor asap to book her sixth abortion, horrific.

The headline is a poor choice, quite sick. There are people that have lost babies, can’t conceive etc. The headline is feckless and grotesque.

    1. Caroline

On the one hand, the headline is a great, dark joke. On the other hand, when you’ve had the substance running down your leg, maybe it’s less funny. Who should win out in a situation like that, I just don’t know.

    2. ahjayzis

I know people who use anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medication without prescription on nights out.

This is not an argument for banning those meds for people who need ’em.

      1. Catherine McEntee

What would you call a situation where somebody has six abortions? Apart from anything else, the toll on her body is something I would worry about, her future ability to have children for example.

As I said, my views are mixed. I believe in freedom of choice but it’s a very emotive issue.

          1. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

Source or I call irresponsible bullpoo on you Catherine

          2. Catherine McEntee

Also, the aftermath on a woman’s mental health is a huge issue that’s played down. Many never forgive themselves and remain mentally tortured decades after the event.

Anyway, it’ll be legalised here at some point, I just hope the proper after-care will be available to the girls/women that choose that path.

          3. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

There is no long term effect on mental health either. Stop lying Catherine.

          4. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

I see how you side stepped that. Put up or shut up.

          5. Catherine McEntee

Don, an Incompetent Cervix following repeated procedures such as mechanical diation of the cervix can cause miscarriage.

I knew this already due to both the women I mentioned earlier having lost babies after abotions unfortunately. One baby was born at six months gestation, her son was stillborn. The other lady lost hers at two months after having had two abortions when an adolescent.

Google Incompetent Cervix, you’ll see for yourself. Women need to be aware

          6. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

So no sources and a condition done women are born with. Damage to the cervix occurs in less than 10 in every 1000 abortions, damage to the uterus in less than 4 in every 1000. Not to mention it can be fixed with a stitch.

I won’t stand for these lies.

            So.
            Come.
            At.
            Me.

          7. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

Ergh. I need to get better at not wasting my time meadow!

          8. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

Saucy little minxes alright. But hey, women deserve better than being lied to by people who say they are pro choice.

Not to mention, the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about at all :)

        1. The Real Jane

Well, I’d be concerned about the woman, frankly. Nobody wants six unwanted pregnancies and clearly there is a reason why this woman is repeatedly getting pregnant. The question is why? What is happening to her in her life, and why has she not had intervention? Is she being abused? Suffering reproductive coercion? Chaotic lifestyle? Substance abuse?

Refusing to allow all women to control what happens to their bodies because you make snap judgements about people whose lives you don’t understand and whose circumstances you don’t know is why abortion is something that needs to be kept between a woman and her medical advisors, not people who listen in on partial converstations at the doctor’s office.

          1. NIce Anne {Dammit}

This. More of this, more of thinking about what the person really needs and not what someone’s little medically untrained mind thinks they need.

            Bravo!

    1. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

Because I can’t stand people who lie about this. But I see you have anecdotes so don’t need evidence.

      1. Catherine McEntee

Im on my phone so cant put up links, you’re apparently an intelligent woman, start looking into abortion and everything connected to it before you shout for it to be freely available.

You either live in the a-hole of nowhere and have little contact with others or do not engage fully with women in the real world – either way you’ve got alot to learn.

        1. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

I’ve read the evidence thanks and know a number of women who have had abortions. Their minds and cervixes are intact, much like your ability to make stuff up

          1. Catherine McEntee

You chose to argue as per usual instead of doing your own research first – the thing is I wasnt anti-abortion so what was your actual point?

Nice of RuPaul to defend your honour but there really was no need.

          2. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

As per usual? So you know me do ya?

I have done the research, as I say. You maybe pro choice but you are misinformed about the effects. When this is stated, you continue to state them. They are lies.

And now, along with misogyny and disparaging remarks about people with mental health problems, despite being concerned about that apparently, you go for “Ru Paul”? Really?

I don’t need anyone to defend me, I need people to stop with these lies.

          3. NIce Anne {Dammit}

I’ve had an abortion. The whys and wherefores are none of your business.
I went on to have a gaggle of perfectly healthy kids. The whys and wherefores are none of your business either. Do I prove that there is no correlation between abortion and miscarriages? No, statistics do. Bloody lovely statistics.

On average, about 4000 women a year have been having abortions since the 1980s. Source: https://www.ifpa.ie/Hot-Topics/Abortion/Statistics

About 14,000 women a year have a miscarriage: again, source: http://www.miscarriage.ie/aboutmiscarriage.html

Did you know that the procedure for cleaning out women after an abortion have had a direct positive effect on women who have had miscarriages? The same process is used to clean out a women after losing a baby therefore reducing their chance of infection – this is known as the dilation and curettage process.

A bit less time ear-wigging on people at the doctors and a LOT more reading would increase your world view and just make you a better person Lucin… I mean, “Catherine”

    2. ahjayzis

      Hi Cora Sherlock xxx

Avoid this yoke everyone – she’s SURE she’s right and can tell you how at some other point in the future – but in the meantime go and read stuff that agrees with her viewpoint okay guys? Great guys, talk to you all later guys woo!

      1. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

Careful now. She has anecdotes and is not afraid to use them!

  3. Catherine McEntee

Come at you? No thanks. You’re an imbecile.

What has you so dried up and bitter? I’d say abortion is raw nerve for you, blatantly obvious,, Your own bad experience shouldn’t be projected onto others that need to make an informed decision.

A woman’s mental health is most definitely affected in the majority of cases – not all women are made of stone even if you are. I’m not here to dance to your tune, carry on googling and you may find answers that help you in your recovery.

    Best of luck.

    1. ahjayzis

      You’re disgusting.

I’ve no proof, but look it up, but I can assure you, PROOFLESS THOUGH I AM, that this McEntee one fiddles donkeys and contact lenses give you gout.

        1. ahjayzis

Blah blah blah, and yet still no proof you’re not a donkey rapist.

Thousands of donkeys suffer psychological damage due to rape, Catherine. Trust me, my mind generates it’s own facts xxx

        1. ahjayzis

They cause gout. Read up on it. I’d post links to the facts but I… later sometime. But yeah it’s a fact, totes.

    2. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

And yet your friends bad experiences are the experiences of every women?

You seem nice what with the lovely misogynistic and mental health dog whistles in there.

  4. Catherine McEntee

You chose to argue as per usual instead of doing your own research first – the thing is I wasnt anti-abortion so what was your actual point?

Nice of RuPaul to defend your honour but there really was no need.

  5. Catherine McEntee

They’re not every woman’s experience – what is wrong with you?????

Women need to be made aware of all possible outcomes, they can’t go in for these procedures not fully informed. Why do you have a problem with me saying that?

You’re arguing for the sake of it.

Keep correcting spelling mistakes though because that’s what this is all about.

    1. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

Because, again, you are wrong. Women are informed, its part of informed consent, as it is for any medical procedure. And having an abortion is safer than having a baby. I’m arguing because you’re massively wrong. Your concern is misplaced.

And how exactly would a medical abortion affect your cervix?

I await your sources for your claims.

      1. Catherine McEntee

Your womb is to all intents and purposes being roughly vacuumed with their device, have you seen a video of one being performed? I have at school to deter us from it.

        1. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

Wow, and there you are, laid bare. Now I get you.

Most abortions are medical – you take a pill and have a heavier than normal period. How does that damage your cervix?

          1. Catherine McEntee

Of course the ones before 9 weeks don’t damage your cervix, the ones after that point aren’t as simple as well you know.

          2. meadowlark

They are a routine procedure, used for more than abortion, and necessary for women, and their health.

        2. Daisy Chainsaw

Ah yes the faked gorno fetish, video nasties! Do you really believe the pictures of aborted foetuses that Youth Defense show are aborted foetuses and not late miscarriages?

    2. Junkface

Catherine, you need facts and evidence of what you say as there are too many people trying to spread missinformation and fear about abortion in Ireland. All you have is hearsay, thats no good.

The facts are thousands of women/girls have to go abroad for abortions every year, some are experiencing pregnancy abnormalities, some are rape victims, some are just not ready to have a baby. They have a human right to get this procedure done in Ireland. Time this country moved into the 21st Century properly.

      1. Catherine McEntee

Junkface, all you have to do is google :

Causes Of An Incompetent Cervix along with Post Abortion Mental Health Issues

My laptop is being repaired so im using my phone.

Tell me what is wrong with girls/women being completely informed before making their choice because I’m at a loss with some people on here as to their stubborn stance and ongoing ignorance.

If you had a daughter, grandchild or niece seeking advice they need the complete picture, end of story.

        1. Daisy Chainsaw

All the links point to so called “prolife” sites with little actual medical information. The one prominent not batcrapcrazy link is for a nurse’s textbook that mentions causes such as infection and disease, rather than an abortion.

  6. Catherine McEntee

Don, there was no argument here only the one you and your sidekick cunjured up. God help any young one coming to yous for advice.

    1. Same old same old

Don and her ilk are angry boring thought fascists who couldn’t construct a reasoned argument to save their lives and probably sleep with their cousins.
Don’t be eating into your energy engaging with angry loopers on the Internet Catherine- no one listens to them in real life either.

      1. ahjayzis

People who compare people to fascists are up to 90% more likely to murder children and the elderly.

Will post verifiable evidence at some unspecified point in the here-to-come, but in the meantime you should inform loved ones, Same old same old xxx

        1. Same old same old

Extreme exposure to Ahjaysiz Don pidgeoni and assorted loons can lead to thought fascism

Wah Wah Wah people don’t share my opinion

          1. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

Opinion is one thing, perpetuating falsehoods is another. But no one listens to me so no reason to be so concerned

          2. Same old same old

How do you make out that the poster above is “lying” as opposed to misinformed or simply presenting another view to yours? Please set out your arguments in some semi coherent way rather than just ranting please.

          3. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

Once someone says something bullpoo, denies sources and replies with anecdote or ignores reasonable questions, coherence is wasted.

          4. Same old same old

What sources are you looking for? Are you suggesting Catherine should tell us the names, addresses, social security number and date of birth of all the people to whom she referred?
Put another way would you discredit all oral history or Maori or Aborigine heritage tales because they are not peer reviewed?

          5. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

Oral histories by definition are oral.

            Your analogy is working great!

        2. Same old same old

I didn’t compare you to a fascist sweetie
Fascists had smart uniforms and good taste in fashion

          1. Same old same old

I see what you’re saying Deluded but technically those people are not fascists. Please stay on point.

          2. Same old same old

I see you’re yet another of those bottomholes on here who fail to tolerate those with opposing viewpoints.

John Lukacs, Hungarian-American historian and Holocaust survivor, argues that there is no such thing as generic fascism. He claims that National Socialism and Communism are essentially manifestations of populism and that, for example, the differences between the political regimes of Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy are greater than their similarities.[38]

          3. Deluded

Brilliant! From “Fascists had smart uniforms and good taste in fashion” to some half-baked r3ddit rubbish.
            They look like gimps.
            Get over it.

Amendment (see what I did there?): “Casual placement at Post Office in Cork city done by Aoife Murphy””

  8. Peter Dempsey

Don is so convinced of her own righteousness, no one else deserves a reason or argument. Besides acting like a condescending smartass to anyone who thinks differently seems to be her thing

    1. Dόn 'The Unstoppable Force' Pídgéόní

In fairness, I’m only a condscending smartass to people who deserve it

      1. Same old same old

You can’t even condescend to using correct
spelling now yet you were correcting the incorrect spelling of others just now? Like I said you don’t appear to be very smart.

    2. Same old same old

I’m calling her out on that. And she’s not a smart ass. Ass possibly. Smart though?

      1. Anne

And she’s not a smart ass. Ass possibly. Smart though?

I can’t take this wit. Still not getting the ride I see.

    3. Catherine McEnteet

Agreed Peter, you may as well be talking to the wall as to having a reasonable debate with her.
