      If I was suspicious, I would be asking why they choose to hold it in June when most are at festivals

      But generally, it’s a stupid time.

        They announced it for the earliest, reasonable date, no?

        Uncertainty around Brexit is already impacting upon the all-important ‘markets’ & the idea is to have it sorted as hastily as will be accepted.

          Yeah but the middle of summer seems a bit silly

        I don’t agree with the OP, but come on Moyest.

        The greek word for eating from bins isn’t ‘Love’.

    don’t care either way, but it would be one in the eye to the ecb/bundesbank runts that helped ruin this nation

      I think your find that the ruination of the nation had more domestic origins. But it suits some to deflect to foreign powers and then there are others like yourself that just follow blindly. Useful idiots.

    Ireland is a total joke. The most esteemed economists can’t agree whether this would be good or bad for the UK, but Charlie the Solicitor knows better. Yesterday Vogue Williams was on radio giving her opinion. I despair.

      In fairness the balance of economists are on one side of this issue;

      Which is beside the point really, since we all know economists are spoofers.

      But it’s pretty straightforward that whatever the long term consequences, the first few years after a shock like this will precipitate recession and capital flight. We’ve already had projects stall because investors are crapping themselves.

    So Mad Men graphics are the lazy ass go to for Irish corporate comms now. Like only about five years after the rest of the world got tired of it.

    Charlie Flanagan is anxious over the borders with northern ireland apparently. Charlie my darlin 2 garda were murdered, 2 ruc superintends were murdered, lucia o Farrell’s son Shane was killed — all victims with guerriers back and forth across the border. N.I “Disappeared” murdered and carried across into republic of ireland. And a bomb factory found this week on the border. And men from irish republic are awaiting trial for terrorism when planning a bombing campaign last year.
