      and charging them exorbitant rents, but hey so long as some vulture fund is making a tax -free profit we can all rejoice a t the “progress” this country has made.

         You’re right; better to not build any homes to ease the housing crisis on the off-chance that some people might be able to make some money out of it :/

            Better for the government to do it’s job and build AFFORDABLE housing, like it has done in EVERY decade since the foundation of the state and now has mysteriously seemed to forgotten how. We can beggar the nation to bail out the banks and the developers, but the thought of government borrowing to help it’s citizens has the right frothing at the mouth.

   They like student housing because there is in built demographic demand aaaand mainly because the standards to be met are so much lower than for residential.
