‘sup?
On the hunt for a stocking filler for a young ‘un?
Ross McDonagh writes:
May I please suggest my debut children’s book – The Curious Fox – as an Irish made stocking filler? It tells the story of a fox cub who wakes one morning with a question on his mind:
‘I wonder if I have a feature / that sets me ‘part from other creatures?’
He goes on a journey and meets an array of animals as he tries to figure out what makes him special in the world, and learns some very important lessons at the end of an eye-opening day (with help from his Irish mammy, of course!)
I’m from Dublin, as is the book’s illustrator Conor O’Brien. It is published by Veritas and printed in Cork and available in Eason’s and Veritas stores, or online on Amazon or Veritas online.. Thank you
Irish-made stocking fillers to broadsheet@broadsheet.ie marked ‘Irish-Made Stocking Fillers’
…Veritas…for fox sake…
I know. It’d be good if they closed down. Less publishers and opportunities for irish writers could only be a good thing. Would make them leaner.
…just remind me what the Veritas contribution to the canon of Irish literature is?
They’re a recognised professional, publisher. So they do a few holy books, so what.
Best of luck
That cover is gorgeous – Conor O’Brien will be one to watch.
+1
Lovely illustrations, disappointing title font.
I clicked the link and had a “look inside”. Gorgeous artwork and nice flowing rhyme. If I had presents to buy for that age group, I’d get this.
Best of luck with it.
+1 had a look too, lovely work :)
