But how free really?

For those looking to do something a little different this weekend in Dublin…

In November 1216, The Great Charter of Ireland (Magna Carta Hibernae) was issued and arrived in Ireland in February 1217.

800 years later The Magna Carta is still noted as an international symbol of freedom and rights paving the way for the democratic systems which exist in in the world today.

Chamber Choir Ireland and Irish Chamber Orchestra join together this weekend in the beautiful Christ Church Cathedral, Wood Quay, Dublin 8 to present the Irish premiere of A Letter of Rights, a large scale palindromic choral and orchestral work from Tarik O’Regan & Alice Goodman exploring the text of clauses 39 and 40 (a right to due legal process).

This will be paired with Handel’s Dixit Dominus and should make for a night out with a difference!

Performance at 7.30pm on Sunday.

Tickets are on sale via here and there will be €10 student tickets available on the door!
