The King Charles next to it is plucking on some childhood heartstrings for me.

Even worse that this is an Irish site….no excuses!!! :) :) :) Who is Patty anyway? Did Patrick get a sex change?

Kieran, do you correct people who use the term? It’d probably be like banging your head against a brick wall. I never understand why they link four leafed clovers to being Irish,’)hey have them on everything from cards to bracelets, necklaces etc. What’s the story?

I correct friends and people I know. Most of the time just ignore it. The clover thing I think is because they inflated the ‘lucky four leaved clover’ with shamrocks. They also have a fascination with corned beef and cabbage instead of bacon and cabbage.

It’s a mix of ignorance, misinformation, adaptation and green beer.

Never thought I’d find myself writing this, but I’d rather our Paddy’s Day with our unsophisticated little parades
