In an unrelated twofer, Lord Wilmore asks:
Tesco carpark, Stoneybatter. I counted 9 cameras…..why 9?
Also…
…was wondering could anyone tell me the origin of the name of this building on Trinity Street? Same name as my brother’s village in Tipp. Thanks.
Anyone?
Anyone?

There were ten but one got stolen.
I used to live in Rathdown Square in an apartment over looking the tescos. There used to be fights most Sunday evenings in the car park. When the guards were called they showed up and did a circle in their car to disperse the crowd but after they left the fighting used to continue. So I think that would have something to do with the cameras.
“in an apartment overlooking Tesco”
Sorry. Had to.
Tesco Car Park’s infamous Banksy install on the dystopian age of technology, security, privacy. The giant scale rusting pc keyboard in the foreground,a classic example of the infamous street artrist’s ouevre.
“…giant scale rusting pc keyboard in the foreground”
– that’s what I thought we were supposed to be looking at too.
Probably a stupid question, but are they all definitely cameras? Would the cylinder boyos higher up possibly be infrared lamps for night-time? They seem to be pointed to the same spot as the camera beneath them in each case. I’ve never installed a camera in my life, so I may be full of it.
Re: StoneyBetter – (or StoBa) There has been some yoga and craft quinoa kale cleansing violence in the area..all locally sourced, and by sourced, I mean stolen.
Presumably the owners of Ardfinnan House were from Ardfiannan?
Surely would have called it Ardfiannan House then
There’s a village in Tipperary called Glam?
It’s twinned with Emo in Co Laois – both the birthplace of major musical movements.
My personal favourite is NWONW, Co. Leitrim.
Yup, Lord Wilmore’s brother owns it…they call him the Glam King.
Re Cameras
Clearly prepping a test run of the SCORPION STARE for CASE NIGHTMARE GREEN, there may have been reports of zombies in the area ;)
Now I’m thinking that the police station in The Third Policeman is the Irish counterpart to The Laundry.
replacement cameras on top…old cameras were just left there.
That actually seems most likely.
And the extra cameras can confuse and intimidate scallywags like the eyespots certain animals have evolved.
