I live in the state of Victoria, in Australia. I don’t like it but we do refer to ourselves as Micktorians.

And Victoria road and avenue. They painted over the street signs recently but the council has fixed them.

Over my dead body will they change the names. I don’t want my street names after some 1916 rabble rouser or, worse still, a hunger striker. People might think I’m poor, or a shinner

Hate Queen Victoria but there’s weapons-grade hysteria when QEII visits.
    Pure Cork, boys.

Funny how Cork people are bringing up this nonsensical history erasing debate when they were the most loyalist of all the counties back when the Brits ruled. Interesting as well how so many people in cork follow Manchester United and Liverpool. While they’re at it maybe ‘de corpo’ should shut down Mahon Point retail park cos that’s full of English stores and also close down Patrick street cos that’s just all UK mobile phone shops. He probably uploaded the photo using virgin media broadband.

They’re a funny, perhaps divided lot. On the one hand they are organizing shinner-marches and slagging off Dubs for being ‘Jackeens’ and on the other they are brandishing Union Jack umbrellas and cap-doffing their arms off at royal visits.

Will they be changing Albert Quay? Prince’s Street? The English Market? St Patricks Street (named after the famous welshman)

I think the Queen being head of state when the famine happened is a piece of relevant information, rather than her German nationality :) .
