I don’t know how those things work, but if Payzone accepted your payment, then it’s their fault and should reimburse you?

They don’t work in that kind of way. With Payzone you send a text specifying the number of minutes you want to Park, the colour coded zone shown on the parking restrictions sign or the nearest parking meter, and your car reg. ParkByText appears to work with a code for each parking area.

There are other parking enforcement companies in operation on different streets around the city (such as around the Docklands residential blocks) but they all use very different looking signage and metres.

So imo it’s quite hard to get them mixed up imo. I’d wonder exactly what text the person here sent to Payzone because if it didn’t match any of their syntax it would be rejected and send an error text back.

IT – the work of the devil.
So, the parking spaces are not owned by the corporation, but private companies?

The vast majority of onstreet parking is DCC owned and operated, but you tend to find these private systems in newer residential areas where they’re mostly resident parking only, or in some train stations as others have pointed out. I think there’s probably only 2 “pay by text” systems in operation though, DCC’s Payzone and this third-party ParkByText. Those other systems tend to be cash only.

That Parkbytext mob have a deal with Irish Rail. Shower of bastards. Just pay cash.

It’s Connolly station based on the pay by text code. What he ignores is that in that single photo it says pay by text three times, plus when he paid with the ParkingTag app for payzone it specifically says “check local signage … and confirm you are parked in zone red” for that area.

      In short, he’s a numpty.

That ‘Parkbytext’ system is also used in car parks attached to Irish Rail stations.

Have you considered driving off with the clamp still attached? Homer Simpson did it.

Pff. If you paid for a pizza online in dominos could you rock down to four star to collect it.

    You’re in a private carpark.

    DCC charge 80 to declamp.

    Support your local council!!!

I’ve noticed those completely different paymachines down by Grand Canal area. Bloody obvious it’s not the DCC system . If you to give money to Payzone for someone else’s parking spot that’s your issue and nobody else’s. I own a bridge there if you want to buy it? I could arrange sort sort of time share deal if that suits?

If its a private car park then all you needs do is. let air from tyre so you can get to the wheel nuts easier, jack up the car, take wheel off along with the clamp. once both off clamp should be easy to separate from wheel. stick on the spare temporary tyre. ring camp company and say you have their undamaged clamp. (take photos etc) . hand clamp back. give the finger, (take more photos) drive away. get original tyre refilled in petrol station , re-attach at home. brag to your friends . OR, be a victim ,pay the 120 euro and tell the internet and get laughed at.
