Staying In Tonight?

at

Sharon’s up the pole.

Again.

Aine Kerrigan writes:

Grab the popcorn and settle in for a barrel of laughs as one of our favourite home grown comedies, The Snapper (1993) returns to RTÉ!

A whopping 24 years on from when we first met 20 year old Sharon Curley and her densely populated family from the fictional region of Barrytown in Dublin, The Snapper remains a firm favourite among Irish audiences with quotes from the movie infiltrating our colloquialisms more often than not

On RTÉ tonight at 9.35pm or on-demand for up to seven days on the RTÉ Player

Meanwhile…

The slightly misleading US poster for The Snapper.

That poster….. was that really the one distributed? It is literally nothing like the film!

      “Who’s she having it for?”

      “She won’t say!”

      “She doesn’t know!!!”

One of the most quotable movies of all time.

I used to go out with a girl called Sharon. “A1, Sharon” was my everytime, post-coital utterance. She didn’t like that.

  4. Bertie "the inexplicable pleasure" Blenkinsop

The youngfella directly under the budgie cage, whatever happened to him I wonder, he used to be in loads of stuff, was a very decent actor I thought.

He was. Jesus the scene where he’s home from the Leb and the family are playing Yellow Ribbon cracks me up each time. He’s a typical Dublin young fella of the time.
