Yesterday.
Leinster House, Dublin 2
Members of Love Leitrim welcome the passing of the legislative ban on fracking as it completed its final stage in the Seanad..
Love Leitrim was formed in late 2011 with the “purpose of preserving and promoting the quality of life in our part of the world” and stopping UGEE (unconventional gas exploration and extraction); the process commonly known as fracking.
The Bill prohibits fracking in the Irish onshore and its internal waters for both exploration and extraction. It will now be sent to the President to be signed into law.
In fairness.

Good stuff.
What happens if fracking is allowed on the other side of the border though?
…not our fracking problem?
Anything near the border would have an effect on both sides…so we’d still be fracked!
fracking unbelievable!
great news – good example of people power
Great news
Whayhey!! Great news
Victory! But I wouldn’t get too complacent. Big Fracking will no doubt be starting a hearts and minds campaign and pay off shill professors in Irish universities to sell the “its perfectly safe” idea to the plebs . Like that one fella in Trinity College. also ,get ready for the “creation of jobs” argument (corporate profits) from paid of economists and corrupt politicians.
Well frack me…
Now that is something very important to be proud and smile about for sure.
Fair play to lovely Leitrim too…
