trying to conduct an intelligent conversation with Charlie Flanagan?? I’m sure it’s very trying for him also.

I wish him well. A very decent man. I’m sure there will be many difficulties in the future, which he is more than capable of overcoming.

He has a fine head of hair on him. Smart, principled man. It’ll be interesting to see how he leads the SC.

I don’t have any problem with Frank Clarke personally, or his appointment as Chief Justice. But it would be nice for once to see a Judge appointed who simply has no connection whatsoever to any political party.

The only way that could be achieved is if they were kept and raised from birth, away from political influence, in a cave or bunker like domicile. They would be a bit feral and probably poor judges, yelling in their feral language and tossing feces at their honorable friends, though without bias or prejudice.

Yes, how terrible it would be to live apart from the noble, civilising influence of party politics. /s

Frank Clark used to be an electrician. Re-wired by folks’ house back in the day. Did a sh1te job by all accounts.

Being a solicitor is NO mark of intelligence. I am living proof of that: I’m a right dope.

I never heard of him until now, but somebody in Fine Gael obviously has had an eye on him for some time.
