No pow-wow yet between Varadkar and Martin.
I wonder if Verruca is too busy trying to give Fitzgerald the Spanish archer.

  2. Shancho

She must have something serious on Leo otherwise I just dont understand why he’s expending so much goodwill on this.

    1. Termagant

I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again: it doesn’t pay to overestimate Leo Varadkar’s competence. It’s entirely possible he’s just continuing to make a series of terrible mistakes.

  3. martco

ah here…we’re into liar liar pants on fire territory here
and this also means that this information was withheld from Charleton??

    FG going down in flames

like, even if there’s somehow no GE out of this how credible can FG pretend to be now on ANY matter???

And to think it was only four days ago that RTE’s Tony Connelly was gleefully reporting the ” chaos ” at the heart of the UK government – as a loyal Irish government stooge in Brussels.
    Badda bing,badda boom !

Will Leo be the shortage serving taoiseach in the history of the state? Looking very likely.

His loyalty is admirable, but it’s wasted here. He can’t back down now though.

  6. Topsy

Dishonesty abounds in the halls of Public Administration. This former social worker has not credibility. Go now.

It’s amazing how many TDs are Maurice McCabe supporters now.It wasn’t long ago that you could have fitted them all into a telephone kiosk.
Irish political bovine mentality at its finest.

    1. Warden of the Snort

What’s your point, that they should ignore the story? You’re the only bovine around here.

      1. Charger Salmons

        Not at all.
Only 3 TDs would have anything to do with McCabe initially – all the rest cared too much about their careers.
        Back into your frame Spud.

        1. Warden of the Snort

How do you know whether McCabe approached any others?
You’re as thick as two short planks

Some legal advice that doesn’t distinguish between evidence of a witness, and questions put to a witness.

  9. Ron

Nothing shocks me anymore with me these shameless political filth bags. Rotton to the core. The really depressing part is that there could be an election every week and they would still be voted back in.

  10. Catherine costelloe

I , am not one bit surprised at this latest development. She is every bit as toxic as Noirin o Sullivan. These two shysters are no ” role models” and are so brazen they dont recognize the repulsion people feel at their actions.
Imagine poor Maurice realizing that every TD he went to for help, privately thought he was a child rapist. We give fat pensions to these bitches. Its behind bars they belong.

    1. anne

I cant make head nor tail of any of Tulsa bullpoo. Are we really supposed to believe that the mix up occurred as it did? Fupping gobpoos. Rotten disgusting carry on.

you have official transcripts of made up conversations going missing.
What a banana republic. We have Leo phoning up Maurice McCabe saying he’s the bravest why has he had to have been brave? Because of what’s been done to him by AGS with the blessing of ministers’ of justice is why.. it’s shocking what they can do to a man, with no accountability whatsoever.

So it seems Varadkar did know about the emails before he gave Fitzgerald his full vote of confidence.
    Extraordinary lack of judgement.
Exposed for the flim-flam huckster he really is.

And so it continues with Coveney tonight on the CLAIRE BYRNE show. Looking to delay Fitzs explanation u til she attends the tribunal. But, we have seen the jib of Sullivan being questioned. ‘I can’t answer that because it’s under investigation’, ‘I Don’t remember’ ‘That would be an ecumenical matter father’. And so it would continue with Fitz. In the meantime she’d have been left in situ.
Coveney bemoaning the fact that no matter what spin he tries, the evidence is blatantly clear that Fitz is not fit for office.Callaghan on the other hand nervous that himself and Martin have ended up in a corner.

  12. Aeneas

Agree. Couldn’t believe Coveney tonight trying to defend the indefensible. Should have kept his head down till Fitzgerald goes, as she will have to. Can’t believe Varadkar still talking to Martin rather than accepting Fitz has to go

    1. Frilly Keane

Maybe Mehall Martin HAS to keep talking to Leo
its the only thing he has done on this whole scandal
and its all that’s there for him to do and keep it for himself
he might be safe there in Cork SC, but it’s not going to be pretty
and it suits him and McGrath to keep pally with Leo
so they can keep manners on Simon and Donnchadh

remember the current constituency boundaries suits Leo – and especially his pet Helen McEntee
once the new constituency boundaries are ratified there are a number of Fine Gael seats at risk
and Leo can only win in Dublin

      1. Killian G

So where’ve you been , Frilly Keane? Considering your position?

Nice morning for an apology, I would say.

        1. Warden of the Snort

ah yea would you look who it is!

can’t stay away from the t’internet, planning the next mega series of articles about Celebrity Masterchef no doubt

    1. Kolmo

The frightening this is that they won’t – among some of the nicest people on earth we have here there is a streak of the population that is mean spirited, anti-social, corporate bought and have no concept of a society – they will continue to vote for FG in their insulated droves.

  13. Steve

He gazed up at the enormous face. Forty years it had taken him to learn what kind of smile was hidden beneath the dark moustache. O cruel, needless misunderstanding! O stubborn, self-willed exile from the loving breast! Two gin-scented tears trickled down the sides of his nose. But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother.

    You have me Broadsheet.

If Fitzgerald doesn’t resign / Varadkar doesn’t fire her causing an election I’m not voting FG.

  14. Jim Bob Julius

As a regular user of the N4 and a constituent of Frances Fitzgerald, I can guarantee she will be gone for the utter lack of planning around Lucan/N4 – not her fault of course but its the optics.

More and more houses shoehorned in and no infrastructure to support and all this hoopla going on and possibly an election?

Bye Bye Franny! Bye Bye Leo as Taoiseach!

How stupid are they really OR what skeletons are being dangled out of closets to make them stay this lunatic course?
