This is lovely.
Love these.
Love driving through little towns and seeing these
(whilst simultaneously being grateful I don’t live there)
Rearviewmirror towns.
It’s agnostalgia – getting sentimental about something you didn’t actually experience.
Stale crisps, nothing to do, ice pops, nothing to do…. (just noticed no sweetshops – anyway.)

my favourite. ready made for any occupying business
it’s a big pity these are gone from dublin
cork still has loads
You can still find them in Dublin (the Sweny one is Lincoln Place I believe). Still some in Dolphin’s Barn, Harold’s Cross and some other suburban areas. But you’re right, they are few and far between.
Love this. What’s fascinating is that so many don’t offer a clue to what the businesses might do. This one for example: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bdi0NkHHMpF/. What is it? A hairdressers, a shop, a funeral parlour, a portal to another dimension?
at night time Roxanne might have her oul red light on behind dem net curtains who knows
a lovely and useful project
that Syron’s one caught my eye, looks like external mosaic work…which seems to be a dead/dying art in this country at least…there might even be some of that Terrazzo flooring inside that sometimes you see in old hospitals, libraries and schools…another dying method
Lovely but as these are disappearing there are a lot of new ones are appearing, there’s quite a community of talented sign writers out there these days
