This morning.

Merrion Hotel, Dublin 2

Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Heather Humphreys (centre) and members of the IDA announcing the creation of 231 jobs in Dublin across “eight high growth companies from Europe and the US” this morning.

Any excuse.

Some happy bunch of onlookers Noooooot.
In the interests of truth and clarity, will the IDA resume posting their job announcements on their website, with details of companies, number of (announced) jobs (over 3,4,5 years), so that their figures can be independently verified? They ceased doing it 3 years ago when they were called out on their massaging of figures. Promised jobs didn’t materialize. Companies that were given IDA money existed for short periods of time – 2 years in one particular case, which had promised 80jobs in Cork. (Big Fish Games as far as i recall) Then the same Coca Cola jobs were announced for Drogheda, Wexford and Waterford. They were in wexford only. But the figure inflated by three.
