Meanwhile, In Dublin Castle

at

This afternoon.

In Dublin Castle.

A public meeting of the Policing Authority with the acting Garda Commissioner Dónall Ó Cualáin is taking place.

As Mr Ó Cualáin is out of the country, he is appearing via video link.

According to a draft outline of the meeting’s agenda, they will discuss the Garda Inspectorate report on Child Sexual Abuse; the Youth Diversion Programme; progress on implementation of recommendations arising from a report of the Special Rapporteur on Child Protection; review of a public order incident at An Cosán; the commissioner’s monthly report to the authority and other business.

MR o Cualain is better than the two put together before him. Good luck to him

      I thought that was a kidnapping/attempted coup d’etat?

Now its just a ‘public order incident’.

Is that how they missed murders and other serious crimes?

      Stupidity.

Appearing on video link because he is out of the country?
    Is this for real?
Seems to be taking the job seriously
Acting is the apt term for him

I work in the music business and rescheduled an important meeting last week as one of the main players ( not on the same level as acting garda comissoner I grant you ) was ‘out of the country’….we could easily have skyped the meeting, but I felt it was important for everyone to be present, in person.
The agenda did not include such serious matters as child sexual abuse …..nonetheless, we rescheduled….
    maybe it’s just me…..

Out of the country ..doing what …why is no one asking that ?
