You’d think the last place they’d want to go for a break would be another old castle. They live in a palace.

I’m at the fota island resort with the kids right now. I do like a bit of cork now and then.
Anyway neither of them are proper royals.

Butt ugly from the front but that’s a nice hotel. East Cork is beautiful.

    A brilliant choice of destination
Ireland always was the playground of the British elite
And boy the west coast of Ireland has it all
    Just stunning

If by playground you mean place they extracted penurious rent from yet rarely set foot in, and by elite you mean hereditary absentee landlords, then yes, excellent point.

let’s not forget plenty of our own finest we’re in cahoots with them while they did it, even more despicable imo
        slave trading too
we’re very fond of not talking about a lot of our own horrible histories sometimes

agree totally and it never stopped
Of course Ireland blames the church for historical abuse and the likes of the Madeleine laundries tuam
As Ireland and its state facilitated it and is in denial of its involvement
          Always someone else to blame
It seems callousness is in the Irish psyche which turns its backs on the unfortunate then years later when the truth emerges screams injustice from the roof tops
I see nothing has changed for hundreds of years before independence and the years that followed
Maybe in another 50 years the homeless might be invited to the aras for a party as we say sorry like in the Madeleine laundry victims the other day

And modern day Ireland is exactly the same with the vulture funds
Did we learn our lesson? no
I would say at the time of the famine the Irish elite running things for the empire were exactly the same

    To produce a new sprog
they took off to the bogs
of Mayo to beget a new royal.
    With advice from Crom-well
    Meghan let out a yell
And conceived on republican soy-el (soil!)

Republican? It’s Sligo that has the Irabnb tradition with royalty. Or so I am told…

She’s not a princess and neither was Diana. They are/were princess of something which is different.

Anyways, let’s hope they keep the royal blood line going. Highly unlikely as neither Willy or Charlie are in Ireland of course.

Perhaps the Irish Times will send ex-Journal “writer” Jennifer O’Connell to stand at the gates and wave her little tri-colour as a mark of approval.

Sligo obviously not on the cards for these two grifters then.

I may have slept in the same bed as Prince Harry… and a nice roomy bed it was too.

I honeymooned there all those years ago. Spent a week in it. Best week/holiday ever. Spectacular. It cost the equivalent of two weeks in Bali but was worth every penny. Tell you what tho. Their prices are thru the roof nowadays.
