Yikes,
Tonight.
Dawson Street, Dublin 2
Former Taoiseach and Fianna Fáil leader Brian Cowen launching RTÉ journalist David McCullagh’s new book ‘De Valera: Rule 1931 -1975’ at Hodges Figgis.
As he is perfectly entitled to do.
FIGHT!

I’m not really surprised that RTE don’t give ff or fg respectively a harder time. Martina two weeks ago launched a buke, David this week. Where do they find the time between the day job?
It seems like a rite of passage for RTE staffers; a craving for journalistic credibility, perhaps?
I guess the income tax exemption helps too.
So I expect this will be on Ray Darcy and/or Ryan Tubridy’s RTE TV shows by the end of the week….
He is on the Late Late this Friday, but to announce the exit poll for the election.
Might get a quick plug in for the book… or likely to have a longer slot on in a week or so when everyone else in the RTE canteen has been hauled up.
I can smell the smugness from here.
It’s possible most of the audience knew Dev personally.
Yeah and DeV would turn in his grave with who’s launching it! What was all that mulakey about having to hand the keys of our sovereignty over to the Germans a few years ago , after fighting the Brits for years.
Slob.
Is there really 9 people at the launch of a book by a prominent journalist where the keynote speaker is a former leader of the country?
Brian Cowen – Minister for Health (1997-2000)
Just sayin’
much trimmer then a svelte minister for health
Obese One Kenobi.
Is there really a market for another book about Dev?
Biffo looking well……*Austerity….pfft
David McCullagh, a journalist…..snigger…..good one BS, good one!
My mother thinks he’s the most attractive man on RTE (McCullagh); I don’t like his shoes.
Jabba the Hutt’s day rate must be a fair bit lower than Aherns
Spice bag and a naggin.
Book launch thronged with 8 people attending (yer man on the side looks like he works for HF).
Massive turnout (Biffo I mean)
Entire event budget probably went on transporting The Biff from O in a standard he is accustomed to.
The “stage” they’re on looks like a large pallet – which presumably is how they got Biffo in?
