Still very much loved and adored, even in a remote part of north Cork, this was Aslan promoting the 30th anniversary of their Feel No Shame album ahead of their return to Cork for next year’s June 8 Marquee gig with Damien Dempsey.

Most over-rated band ever.
would just like to mention The Doors before rotide gets here
I used to go to see them a lot around 87/88 and they were one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen.
Shame they never really struck gold.
feel no shame is one of the best Irish albums ever
I agree.
And were truly amazing from the very start in 84/85.
When Billy had the gas cylinder et al as percussion.
Pity they stopped doing Fire In My Heart.
Shame Aslan fans at the Marquee will have to endure Damien Dempsey on the bill. To the bar, everyone!
I saw them around 84/85 and I thought they were terrible. A few years later, they released Feel no shame – I still play the album occasionally. I don’t know much of what has happened since then….I emigrated.
I went to see them in the Iveagh Gardens. I was never a big fan but went with a friend of mine who got the tickets for free. One of the best gigs I have been to. They were excellent.
I agree 100%
TIL that all of the Broadsheet commentariat are really old…
