Who — in their right mind — would want to bring their child into Free Food Millennial Hell Keeping the GNIB in Business Faecesbook HQ in Dublin?

  2. Dub Spot

You’re Up Brit Creek says Brexit cheerleader for sending the entire UK up same. The Brit Passport is worthless.

Good to see that horrid bint have her citizenship revoked. She said she wasn’t bothered by seeing a bin full of decapitated heads, is she bothered now?

      1. topsy

Well done GB. Perhaps you’d have a different opinion if ISIS butchered one of your family. This woman says she has no regrets.

        1. Nigel

I’d have the same opinion if a young relation of mine was radicalised, groomed, taken abroad, raped, impregnated, exposed to appalling experiences by a bunch of murderous radical zealots. I would certainly expect a secular democratic society to treat her with the justice and fairness the religious murderers deny to others because secular democratic societies are supposed to be better.

        2. Junkface

The UK should put her through due process, but I think they were right to strip her of her citizenship. She is radicalized, it would be absurd to allow her back into a normal UK lifestyle, how would she bring up that child, who is a boy? Remember her whole reason to leave was to build a terrorist Islamic state were they live under Sharia law, young girls were to go to Syria with the sole purpose of being assigned a husband who would impregnate them and then give birth to more (male) babies. We don’t even know what happened to the female babies, there are some troubling reports, not surprisingly. She can live as a Muslim under more strict religious conditions in Bangladesh, that’s what she really wants. The comforts of the UK are for infidels.
Britain has a problem with conservative Islam and radical Islam and needs to encourage reform. They could start by banning Burkas in the UK. If you want to live in a free open society were woman are treated as equals, then you must dress appropriately. Just as a Christian would have to do living in Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia etc…

      2. Mel

she’s entitled to Bangladeshi citizenship. Her parents can leave the U.K and they can be re-united back home. Her father after all, is the person who radicalised her.

      3. Rob_G

        (i) She’s not stateless, as pointed out above

(ii) She clearly did not place much store in her British citizenship; otherwise she would not have gone off to join ISIL.

The Twitterati lynch mob are screaming for the decapitation of the Begum family solicitor now. Would you be more comfortable over there with like-minded neanderthals?

      1. Junkface

The only twitterati lynch mob who would actually scream for decapitations would be fanatical Muslims. Is this what you are saying? Otherwise, I think the solicitor will be fine.

        1. Mickey Twopints

Go and have a read of some of the comments under his tweet of last night when he announced the receipt of a letter from the Home Office. You’ll need a strong stomach.

      2. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

He didn’t do himself any favours by comparing her with shell-shocked soldiers coming back to the UK after WWI when someone said (correctly, I think) that she didn’t seem very traumatised.

As an aside, he’s very handsome.

        1. Nigel

I think not being bothered by a bag of decapitated heads, or claiming not to be, is in itself of pretty severe traumatisation.

          1. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

Maybe. Or maybe she’s just an enormous male member whose terrible decisions have come back to bite her in the bum region.

          2. Nigel

It’s possible that whatever was done to her can never be undone, but surely there can be no doubt that this is the result of the grooming and indoctrination and sexual exploitation of a child. Creating child soldiers is considered a war crime. Creating child brides for soldiers is a massive human rights violation.

          3. Junkface

Creating child brides is totally acceptable in conservative Islam. The same could be be said for the act of Jihad, and honour killings within families and throwing gays off buildings. This is the core of the problem. The religion. It is like living in the middle ages, not compatible with modern life in democratic countries. It was left to its own devices in France and the UK for the last 30 years, what happened then? Hoards of UK and French born muslims (from many middle class, well educated families) got radicalized and joined ISIS in Syria and Iraq to participate in terrorism, lynchings, beheadings, torture of any non muslims, or muslims who disagreed with them. If they do not tackle the problem at its root, it will just come back.

          4. Mickey Twopints

And the radicalisation of these people had absolutely nothing to do with the atrocities which accompanied Western “interventions” in Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Somalia, Afghanistan, Syria and Yemen. No sir, nothing at all.

          5. Junkface

Yes Mickeytwopoints, The USA, UK and Russia have meddled too much in that part of the world for sure, and have helped radicalize the youth as a result, that’s one part of the problem, the other part is the religion. Another part is the wealth of Saudi Arabia, which helped pay for the distribution of more radical versions of Islam throughout the world in the form of Wahhabism since the 1970’s. Oil money has helped create this ideological monster, now they have to find a way to untangle it all. But Iran is also a problem, after 1979 the leaders of Iran sent thousands of young Shia muslims into Israel as suicide bombers, they invented it, its a different branch of Islam, part of the same poisonous rhetoric within the religion.
None of it is as black and white as saying “it’s all America’s fault”. Go watch Bitter Lake by Adam Curtis on youtube.

        2. Nigel

Why allow the brutalisation and exploitation allowed by an extremist conservative religion to affect her rights as a UK citizen? If anything it emphasises her victimisation.

Also worth remembering that the ascendancy of this flavour of radical Islam was enabled by western powers during the Cold War in an effort to control oil resources and combat Russian influence. It never ceases to amaze me how people who regard this medieval throwback as a direct threat to western enlightenment values and civilisation forget that those values and that civilisation interceded directly to promote and support and empower it.

          1. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

I understand what you’re saying and where you’re coming from. You’re a far more understanding and liberal person than I am. I dunno, Nigel. I’ve seen her being interviewed and rather than seeing a damaged, traumatised pregnant woman I saw an arrogant, disdainful, unrepentant person. Mostly I try to be liberal but you don’t want people taking the mick either.

          2. Nigel

A fair and just system would not take her likeability into account, which is why it’s preferable to trial by tabloid.

After Honda, wary eyes on Toyota says FT.

No surprise because Toyota have one if not the leanest supply chains in the UK which is cited by academics worldwide as how it should be done. Their production costs will soar.

And, if the EU which is their main market is to be cut off then they have no reason to stay. £2.75 billion investment and employing approximately 3,000 (* 2 with supporting services). This no deal Brexit poo has just got real.

    1. Mickey Twopints

Toyota literally wrote the book on Just In Time production. Their factory will completely cease to function if the supply chain is disrupted.

      1. SOQ

Absolutely, it’s all pull. I doubt if they would even have the space to stock pile parts and even then, it so against their business model.

  5. Giggidygoo

At least Denis O Brien didn’t get his mitts on anything to do with the NCH. Oh wait! Actavo is now an engineering company, and guess what? Yep. You’ve guessed it. But all isn’t rosy, as according to the Info….
It was noted “the project is currently five months behind schedule” and “the performance of Actavo has not been up to standard”.

And here’s a thought. The way the overruns are mounting, if this hospital gets built there will be a massive debt hanging over the state. Primed for the entrance of a private company to take over areas of operation and ‘debt’ (which will then no doubt will he presented as some kind of success)

Maybe Cian can put our minds at rest?

        1. Cian

          Thanks dav.
If this is true, then (a) Actavo shouldn’t get any extra money to fix their problems, and (b) they shouldn’t get any more work on this project, and (c) whoever appointed them should be fired.

So, the deputy CEO of Denis’s Beacon Hospital is on the board of the NCH and now we learn Denis’s Siteserv is a contractor on the NCH, Siteserv is the subject of a 5-year long commission of investigation and it’s suing Judge Cregan to stop certain documentation being fully examined by the commission.

      Yep. Ireland.

    2. eoin

That’s an amazing story and all the more amazing that it made it into the Indo (mind you, the editor might be otherwise distracted ahead of his big day in court next Monday).

BAM (which is building Denis’s Aloft hotel) employs Siteserv as a subcontractor on the NCH, and the NCH’s own internal papers sharply criticise the performance of Siteserv. Why am I not surprised.

Zapping concerned about childrens welfare? That’s a new slant. Here’s hoping she doesn’t weigh in on the second child mass grave or else that can will be three streets over before we know it.

Will Simon Harris survive today’s vote of no confidence?

Fianna Failers, the no-ballers say they’re abstaining.

If the Opposition votes in favour of the vote of no confidence and Independent TD Michael Harty (who has supported the govt previously) votes in favour as he says he will, then the government will 100% depend on both Denis Naughten and Michael Lowry for a 1-TD majority. What will Micheal and Denis demand in return for their support?

Or, might just one FFer find their balls, maybe John McGuinness or Eamonn O’Cuiv and force Leo to appoint a minister who will pipe up and say something when they learn a key project is €391m over budget.

    1. SB

Except FF are between a rock and a hard place – they can’t afford to bring the government down with Brexit looming. Or worse (in their minds), be blamed as the ones who brought the government down. And bad as some might think this government’s performance is, we DO need someone at the EU table to shout for us during these turbulent times. We wouldn’t be long being sold down the river otherwise.

      1. Giggidygoo

It’s officialdom who run this country Figureheads such as Varadkar or Coveney make no difference to the outcome of brexit.

BS has become like a private Twitter feed for the various political shills (pr employees)… its great to see, but in the old days we’d meet in the Unicorn for lunch on a Saturday and have a laugh about it. You guys take it too seriously..

Amazing that Irish media is totally ignoring the collapse in Haiti – fuel and food shortages, rioting and violence, foreigners being evacuated, currency collapsed – but is still sucking up to the US to keep Venezuela in the headlines.

This is just one story from the chaos in Haiti. Were these guys planning the world’s biggest bank heist at the central bank of Haiti? The adviser to Haiti’s president said “the men were on a mission in Haiti to evaluate the” central bank, the adviser has now fled Haiti.

Still struggling to understand the difference between unwanted groping and sexual assault. Sleazebag Philip Green reportedly banned from the ranch in the US where he owns a home after he allegedly groped an employee.

Zappone getting hot and bothered over Facebook strikes me as a publicity stunt.
She doesn’t care much for the hundreds of unexplained deaths at Tuam.

        1. rotide

Maybe while you look that up you can explain to the class why mortality rates for children were higher in 1900 than 2019.

          1. Giggidygoo

And then do a comparison to the average life expectancy outside of these homes, compared to it in them.
