Open more pools not close them!! This is a silly country with no amenities.
Yes. They harp on about pub culture, drinking, obesity, bad health choices, social media use and video games…and then close public swimming pools. The nanny state is against so much that it’s hard to know what they’re for.
Metrolink stations?
Really hope they save it. Love that pool.
blushirts have developers and vulture funds to keep happy..
oh, bore off will you
it’s for a train station
There hasn’t been a pool in my local area in 20+ years. They closed the old one under the auspices of building a new, better pool,. but here we are 20 years later and no pool.
As a result, the closest pool is a 30min drive away. Which is disappointing but not surprising.
Tear it down.
I want the metro!
Seems like a crazy decision when they could have used the vacant Apollo House site across the road for Metro- where is the joined up thinking in this country?
Well if it’s an underground station could you not just build a new pool on top of it after
“Countess Markievicz was cool…you know…..cool”
