Spoke Too Soon

Yesterday.

Seems credible.

After all, they are the Road Safety Authority.

Not so fast..

Dublin Cycling Campaign writes:

Article 22 applies to mechanically propelled cycles (more commonly known as motorbikes). Article 29 applies to pedal cycles (bicycles). All of this information is freely available online.

Oh.

Assuring to see that the authority whose mission is to oversee road safety don’t even know the difference between a motorbike and a bicycle.

Has that section been enacted? Maybe. So much of road traffic legislation is a shambles: contradictory, not enacted, deleted, replaced etc etc. It needs consolidation.

“Get the eff outta my way, please” works well. Confuse ’em with manners at the end.

Ha! I shouted that once while trying to cycle through a melee on the cycle path outside the Barge. They all laughed at me. Cheeky pups.

Amateur. When next you decide to cycle through the melee, just roar “It’s your round” and watch them split. in fairness they do keep the cycle lane outside the Barge fairly clear. I’ve often seen guys in hi-vis keeping punters off the cycle path.

Ah yeah. That was two years ago (maybe?) when we had a sunny spell and it was manky. Full of fools and then filled with broken glass the next morning. They’ve sorted it out, very much so, since.
I note your comment and will, of course, remember it after I cycle through a melee the next time. L’esprit d’escalier.
