Saturday night will be cold with showery rain, merging into longer spells or rain at times. However, rain will turn to sleet and snow in the northwest and north and over higher ground.

There is also the risk of some hail. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 3 degrees with moderate to fresh westerly winds.

Sunday will be a very cold day with sunny spells and scattered showers. Over the northern half the country showers will be wintry with the risk of hail.

Highest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees with fresh, gusty westerly winds, strong in coastal areas.

      On the first static map it is -2, but with -56 at the south end of the deep blue ovoid, roughly on the Wexford/Kilkenny border.

      Could well be the windchill factor alright for higher ground.
      Looks more -8 or so though.

    Baltic… ah lads, the temperature over this side of the Atlantic just a couple of days ago was -15c with a feels like temp of -18c.
