What a strange approach from May, I can’t see it achieve much except anger the MPs she needs.

…must be a right wing thing…the blueshirts and the ffers have consistently tried to anger the TDs they are going to need here…

That’s what they all do, the left. Yup, all of them.

In fact I might just hunt down a few to work up a nice, healthy appetite before I leave for the left lunch I’m speaking at.

I can’t understand people who support him. “He was right not to go into the meeting: it was a set-up by May!” they say. ??? There are bigger things to be worried about right now.
I’d genuinely like to know why anyone thinks he’s the right man to lead the Labour Party right now.

He recently stopped publication of a poem in the Morning Star because it was critical of him. Like many in the house of commons he has been promoted beyond his capabilities

The Daily Telegraph headline – reminds me of Ian paisley’s “Sackcloth and Ashes” cries when anyone asked what he wanted from the nationalists

There is a new book coming out-

How to win friends and influence people by Theresa May.

In it she will outline how MPs, the EU, the weather and a clothes stylist with a great sense of humour all conspired against her.

Do we know what specific questions Sport Ireland asked the FAI and what specific answers were provided (yesterday)? Given the pre-condition for FAI funding is the financial health of the recipient, I wonder how the FAI will have addressed those concerns since it needed a most unusual alleged loan from the CEO to tide it over for three months and that loan was arguably concealed since it wasn’t declared under related party transactions in the 2017 accounts.

On Tuesday, Sport Ireland (the body funded by us which pours our money into specific sporting organisations) issued this statement
“Sport Ireland has written to the President of the Football Association of Ireland seeking urgent clarification from the Board of the FAI on media reports concerning a loan to the organisation by its Chief Executive, including the circumstances of the loan and its repayment. Sport Ireland was not notified at any stage in 2017 about any apparent material deterioration in the FAI’s financial position, as per Sport Ireland’s Terms and Conditions of Grant Approval, and has sought additional clarification in relation to this matter.”

Mary Robinson’s friends, the Maktoums are throwing shapes about cleaning up their criminal paradise, Dubai with criminals needing to get a “Certificate of Good Conduct’ before they can work in Dubai. But, isn’t the work of the Kinahan organised crime group the trafficking of drugs into Ireland? And anyway, Dubai is a corrupt bribe-driven dump, so getting the Certificate shouldn’t be a big problem.

The Sun reports today that the KInahans are trying to engage British/Irish solicitors to represent them in their quest to remain in Dubai. How laughable. Seriously, just pony up another 5% of their €1 billion drugs business and they’ll be golden.

Mick The Hack has a really funky story about a cop getting beaten up in NY-

“According to The Irish Daily Star, the officer went to help a female colleague “who found herself in difficulty” at the end of the evening, it’s reported.

It’s claimed the garda confronted two men who were hassling the female officer as she attempted to get a cab.

A source told the paper: “He managed to fend the two of them off but then six other men appeared and gave him a terrible doing.”

What was he doing and where was he-no reporting in NY on this-NY cops/firemen are not allowed drink in uniform here-was he still in uniform ?
There are cameras everywhere, its a very strange story.

Poor Theresa May, reduced to mimicking the Shinners.

She’s “on your side” she tells the nation last night. And it was as meaningless and patronising last night as it is here on the Shinner advertising.

We all appear to be remarkably calm given the current likelihood of a no deal crash out next week. Theresa May has asked for an extension, with a date which is not acceptable to the EU. The EU will grant an extension but ONLY ON CONDITION Theresa May gets the draft withdrawal deal approved by the House of Commons BEFOREHAND and it’s been rejected twice already, by 230 votes and 149 votes. As things stand today, there’s little chance of the UK parliament passing the deal on a third attempt. So, if the EU sticks with the condition, then, in 8 days time, it’s a no deal Brexit crash out.

Remember just over a year ago, the hiring, de-hiring and then re-hiring of the podium for Varadkar, Coveney and Helen McEntee, to announce regally that they had secured an agreement from May that was ‘Cast Iron and bullet proof’. That the agreement included that cast iron and bullet proof backstop?

Well, well, well. She has no agreement , therefore no backstop. She never had anyway.

Any blinking will be done by Varadkar and Co. The usual FG sell out to their masters.

The EU has held up their end of the bargain. You can’t blame FG for the stupidity of the British.

It was nonsensical of PSNI issuing a statement , way premature, stating that owner of Green Vale hotel was arrested for class A drug and then dearresting him. Insensitive at best considering tragic deaths of 3 youngsters. R.I. P.

I’ve just had a rep from the Irish Times at my door asking me to subscribe in return for free delivery. Someone in Tara St wants the 1980s back.
