Behold: the Wagon Queen Family Truckster – a modified 1979 Ford Ltd Country Squire based on the four-wheeled star of ‘National Lampoon’s Vacation’ (1981) – correct in every detail from the vomit green Metallic Pea paint to faux wood panelling and missing hubcap.
Fitted with a 5.0l V8 engine and automatic transmission it is – unlike the original Griswoldmobile – reliable and ready to drive.
Up for auction (at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach) next month.

I adore this. This has cheered up my not so good Friday.
Same here! I’m hanging. Just like National Lampoon’s Vacation, thought I before reading it. I used to think those movies were the funniest things ever. Chevy Chase, hah? Jaykers.
Hope your day improves, Mildred. x
I used to love them. Have to be in the mood for them now. Bit like Mel Brooks in that respect. Cheers Andy x
Also. Community proves he’s still hilarious.
Vomit green paint? Excuse yourself, that’s the metallic pea!
Missing a dogless lead.
You gotta love the madness of sticking planks of wood onto a car. Its like driving around in a semi wardrobe
