Bet you that as soon as the press are shown out of his office, Leo rips down the Michael Collins portrait to reveal Kylie in her gold hot pants.

So now the very same people who when it comes to Brexit keep shouting about the democratic wishes of the people are threatening to block May calling a general election. Why? Because they are afraid they won’t get elected again. So much for the democratic wishes of the people.

Where’s the PwC report on the scandalous cost of the National Childrens Hospital? It was supposed to be ready “at the end of March”. You’d think Stevie Donnelly or Louise “I was once a shop steward, you know” O’Reilly would be all over this, what are we paying an Opposition for.

Great story from Mick Clifford on the front of the Examiner.

Owners of 274 apartments in Dublin, built in 2001 by McInerney, are facing fire safety remediation work of €50,000 per apartment plus the “cost of such security [having the Fire Brigade provide wardens 24/7 at the site] is understood to be between €120,000 and €200,000 for which the owners are liable.”

But at least the great thing about Ireland is the Home Bond insurance which covers building defects. Surely that will pay for all of this? Hahahahahahaha.

    1. GiggidyGoo

It was shoddy workmanship. Therefore the companies who did the work would have had insurances at the time of building and those insurances should be the ones paying out.

      1. b

not the case, no such thing as that insurance and the home bond insurance was a scam that covered basically nothing

Poor Mattie McGrath, he retracted it, didn’t he.

    “That’s going overboard, mate!
    I retracted it, didn’t I?”

Am I reading that right, front page of the Daily Mail. €3 million paid out in compo to prisoners who are forced to defecate in a bowl in their cells, store that until the cells are opened and then throw the contents down a working toilet.

Of the €3 million paid out, is €2.7m paid out on legal costs of taking the claims, 3rd paragraph. So 90% of the compo is going to the lawyers and just 10% to the prisoners. What a scam.

Maybe the solution lies in providing 20th century hygiene facilities, even if we can’t stretch to 21st century technology?

If you kept a dog in similar conditions you would be prosecuted.

Interesting to see state-owned AIB today selling loans secured on family homes to vulture fund Cerberus. Sinn Fein’s “no consent, no sale” legislation is supported by Fianna Fail. AIB is just being subversive.

nice bit of spin there Eoin…..

“The portfolio consists of c. 2,200 non performing customer connections, with around 95% of connections over 2 years non performing and 80% of connections over 5 years non performing.
      ·    The portfolio is predominantly underpinned by investment asset properties. It also includes limited agriculture exposure. The average balance per customer connection is €0.5 million and the portfolio extends across c. 5,000 assets.
      ·     While not categorised as a principal dwelling home (PDH) portfolio sale, for c. 10% of customer connections, the PDH property has been included as it is cross-secured to wider commercial connected debt.”

“Sinn Fein’s “no consent, no sale” legislation is supported by Fianna Fail.”

    – if SF want their policies implemented, they should negotiate with FF and form a government.

…as MaryLou McDonald has said many times…it is not the political parties who decide who forms a government…it is the electorate…
