Ronda is very unlikeable. Her behaviour is frequently childish and once she lost in the UFC her attitude turned many off her.

I only ever saw Rhonda in The Expendables 3 films, where while she was obviously fit and athletic, her acting was very sterotypical and pastiche. Admittedly fit the character of the film, but there you go.

On a related note, one of the other greats of female wrestling, Gina Carano, starred in a film I think was sadly underappreciated. She played a kind of Jason Bourne character in the film Haywire, set in significant part in Dublin, and gets to kick the proverbials out of Michael Fassbender and Channing tatum. I recommend it :)

Disliking Ronda is eminently reasonable. She’s made a mistake moving from real fighting to pretend fighting, since now her abhorrent personality is much more evident.

I should have specified irrational in it’s magnitude,
        she’s a dose

“Leonie has a twin sister who is a handy golfer as well”

I remember reading about that. Well done to Leona. I hope it is the first of many.

I’m that far over the edge at this stage I’m almost meeting myself on the way back….

I enjoyed John Olivers piece on the WWE recently.
Showed how the fans pushed for more women wrestling to be featured.

Certainly not for everyone. I used to love it as a kid.

I actually ended up watching some of it last night. It’s tremendously entertaining, and I have some serious admiration for those ladies who do it, just as I would for women who fight in the UFC

and what’s your issue with hot girl on girl, Daisy?

(in the interests of fair disclosure: right now, i’m imagining you and millie at it)

I like the piece as it showed how disgusting the billionaire Vince McMahon is and how he mistreats his employe- sorry his independent contactors.

Surely Becky ‘shone’ and not ‘shined’ or is shone specific terminology? In any event Well Done and Congrats.

    1. Gah!

‘Shined’ is American English. Makes my teeth grind. That and using ‘dove’ as the past tense of ‘dive’.

      1. Brother Barnabas

        nope

shone and shined are both equally correct past-tense forms of the verb ‘shine’

the transitive form is ‘shine’ or ‘shined’, and intransitive form is ‘shone’ (as in – the sun shone all day… you wouldn’t say ‘the sun shined all day’, would you?)

it has zilch to do with American or British English

“Sport doesn’t have plots or storylines”

      Clearly not a munster fan

      Also:
      “Wrasslin’ isn’t sport, it’s panto.”
Panto, quite well known for its cheering.

Do you really think that people who enjoy wrestling don’t for one second think that its not panto?
Live and let live Daisy, It’s not my cup of tea either but theres no harm in it.

    2. ComeAtMeBro

      eh… ok Daisy.
      Let start at the start.

WWE stands for World Wrestling Entertainment.
It never claims to be a sport, it is entertainment.

OTT wrestling in Dublin was part of Fringe Festival last year because it is Theatre.
      Once again, not a sport.
