A report by Colin Gannon on last weekend’s vigil in London in memory of Irishman Peter Tyrell attended by a contingent from the Tuam Home Survivors’ Network.
Peter, a survivor of abuse Letterfrack, died in 1967 by setting himself on fire in an ‘act of defiance, the ultimate sacrifice’ . Peter’s memoir Founded On Fear was published in 2006.
