Ah here.

This morning.

Tallaght University Hospital.

Minister for Health Simon Harris at the launch of a new CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) Centre at Tallaght Hospital with Tommy Fegan Chairman of CRY Ireland.

The centre will facilitate free cardiac assessments and support to individuals and families who have lost loved ones to Sudden Cardiac Death or are affected by inherited cardiac conditions.

It’s not a caption competition until you insist.

    I know Tommy well.
Ok, caption “Lets not make fun or trivialise young people dying suddenly of a heart attack!”
    How’s that?

Nobody is. But this picture of Simon Harris pretending to paint a wall with a tiny brush is ridiculous.

It might be small but it gets the job done. Some women prefer a smaller paint brush supposedly.

How about “As the minister with responsibility for an absurd overspend on the National Children’s Hospital, don’t pose for a photo op with a tiny paintbrush if you don’t want to be ridiculed. Stay in the office and get on with your job.”

You missed a bit, Simon! Kinda like the €1 billiion cost over-run at the National Childrens Hospital, wha?!

Isn’t it exactly three weeks ago today that the €450,000 PwC report on the scandalous cost over-run at the NCH was published? Do you remember Leo making the commitment in February that the investigation would hold people to account? Three weeks, later, precisely who has been held to account?

Jaze you’d be an age waiting for that wall to be painted with such a tiny brush!

      National Childrens Hospital approved budget
      ___________________________________

Cost of the foundations, windows, walls, doors, floors, roof, plumbing, electrics – €300 million (around what you might expect to spend on a commercial building of the same size)
      Cost of painting – €1.4bn

And that’s how you get to €1.7bn
      QED
