might be one or two of the older-vintage broadsheet commenters who saw george best actually “play in Dalymount”. one of his 4 or 5 games for cork celtic in 1975 was against bohemians. cork celtic won 1-0 but best contributed very little by all accounts
I was at a friendly in Dalymount years ago and he was due to play but in the end he just walked out in a leather jacket, tipped off, waved to the crowd and legged it.
At least I saw him kick a ball I suppose :)
