Working class cosplay. Let’s pull the wool over the brits eyes and pretend we’re all authentic and the like.

I think these lads are the best exposed band to come out of the Capital and the island for a while. I say exposed band, because Nick and the sheet have being highlighting some really diverse and exciting acts that are great in their own right.
    The diversity is astounding.

Fontaines Dublin City have a great energy about them. They made a strong statement at Glastonbury. Fair play!

I feel Halfway between Joy Division and Whipping Boy, Fontaines DC give a nice bit of respectability to emerging Irish Rock n Roll/Punk aka hows yer father

An awful lot of hate for these on here. Best album I’ve listened to in years. The whole fake dublin accent thing is strange, listen to how Bowie sang, he changed his voice and style of singing. I don’t think they are trying to pull the wool over anyone’s eyes either, I suppose the Irish love pulling down one of our own, it’s in our nature.

Seems to be the way J Dizzle.

They are from Skerries which is Dublin last time I checked. One of the lads is from Monaghan.

      The Irish begrudgery is certainly
stunting the growth of emerging talent.
Thankfully these fellas got out before the knives.

Bowie wasn’t from the moon and Blur weren’t from Walthamstow

“If you sat around there long enough and heard all the phonies applauding and all, you got to hate everybody in the world, I swear you did.”

    They’re ok
They have a distinctive sound and voice
More than you can say about Picture This or Two Door Cinema club ( for example)

they’re not from Dublin. “DC” stands for Dublin City, but when asked in a recent interview about it they got all shirty, defensive and then dissmissive of the honest interviewer. If you put DUblin City in your name expect a question why
