Saturday.
St. Finian’s Church, River Valley, Swords, County Dublin.
A ‘guard of honour’ in tribute to truck driver Nicholas Collier, who died when he was struck by an empty handler at Dublin Port last Wednesday. Nicholas’ son Darragh asked Ireland’s lorry drivers to “send off his dad in style”.
Along with Darragh, Nicholas is survived by wife Tricia, sons Sean, Conor and Cillian, parents Tom and Mary, brothers Eamon, Tony and Cathal, and sister Selina.

I saw Darragh’s post and am so pleased the trucker community came together in a show of love and support for one of their own who died while doing a job he loved. At times like this I’m proud to be Irish. We have the a tremendous capacity to show love, compassion, respect and empathy to reach out and assist others who suffer loss and bereavement. Well done to all involved – Darragh you’ve done your dad proud am sure he’s beaming up above sharing ‘that’s my boy’. Condolences to you and your family and those who knew and loved Séamus on his untimely passing. RIP
+1 Bebe – Well done to all and condolences to the family and friends of Mr Collier.

Can I please have an explanation as to why my comment was removed? I was neither disrespectful nor defamatory. It was a genuine sentiment.
Nice.
