‘You know the way [protean commenter] ‘eoin’ mentions Alexa‘s ratings? I just had a look (and as he/she said, it changes every day). So you rank below the usuals (it doesn’t count app users, etc) but look at this: people spend the longest time on Broadsheet:

Broadsheet: 5 mins 01 sec

RTÉ: 3 mins 25 sec

Irish Independent: 3 mins 26 secs

The Journal: 3 mins 29 secs

Irish Times: 2 mins 45 sec

Irish Sun: 2 mins 44 secs

Irish Examiner: 2 mins 04 secs

Irish Mirror: 1 min 59 secs

Joe: 1 min 55 secs

The Guardian: 3 mins 25 secs

The New York Times 3 mins 21 secs

The Washington Post: 3 mins 28 secs

I think you owe your commenters a big ‘thank you’, don’t you?’

FIGHT!

You mean that’s not you I’ve been sending those dirty emails to all these years???

            Well crap.

Or my Premier View … Feck. Lads’ll think I’m spying on the camp
or worse, courting someone there. •-)

Is this just from the data extracted from the dot.ie access?
So what about via the Twitter Platform,
When I’m coming at ye from the phone, which is probably most of the time, I just click through from Twitter

I’m amazed to see that people spend longer on the Indo than The Irish Times. They only let you read a few lines of most stories before requesting an email address, at which point I bounce off.

I’d spend a lot more time on here if it wasn’t for the superb editing and necessary removal of unpleasant, aggressive comments. And if you must moderate then you should at least not at all give a reason and notice because it’s not necessary and everyone knows the form here at this stage.
    Other than that, fair play.

Fair play. FWIW I think Broadsheet is a vastly better forum for online dialogue than very many of the more “up market” sites.

You know it’s also indicative of which platform is,
    Or should,
Be more attractive to advertisers and publicists

If a lurker is more inclined to stick on Broadsheet a minute and 36 seconds longer than on RTE.ie
Then you’d have to question what Advertisers are being promised in their ad buy bundles from RTÉ

    Mind you
It also indicates that users are only scooting through JOE.ie and not lingering there at all
