      I use different methods, but this is sometimes one of them. Sometimes it’s all the across first. Sometimes, I meander, doing the clue through the last linked letter and try to get around the crossword. Makes it more fun :)

      It’s very irritating. Like most things in England it comes down to class. The working classes and the toffs swear as much as the Irish do without really thinking about it. The problem is that in the middle you have swathes of Guardian-reading middle classes who all seem to have been raised by Hyacinth Bucket stereotypes and as a result think that swearing is terribly subversive.

    Nothing like a referendum going the wrong way to show us how anti-democracy the true left really is. Many the wife of a left winger is no stranger to the back of her husband’s hand.

      Yes, is that a fact now or just a load of unfiltered manure?

      Because it seems very much the latter. Violence is violence – political preference doesn’t really factor into it.
