This afternoon.
Henry Street, Dublin 1
Arnotts launched its AW19 Season Collections with models Marie and Appiok (pic 3) and Cadhla (above left) and Sadhb (above right) sporting brands such as So Boujie, Graphic Grids, Luxe Minimalism, Colour Crush, Dark Bloom and a pair of defiantly garish puffa jackets from Benetton (Finally!).
Leon Farrell/Photocall Ireland
Those puffa jackets are exceptionally gick.
Pure fugly. Penneys will have garish knockoffs in before long, I reckon and all the young’uns will be wearing them.
Tanks, penneys.
And the oul ones. Penney’s brought out a line of cheap metallic silver jackets a year or so ago which became popular with women aged 60+. I was chatting with daughters and sons and they were really angry with Penneys for inflicting this horror upon their families.
the first thing that comes to mind when I see likes of this is a line from one of my top ten songs of all time.. Steppin Out by Joe Jackson:
You
Can dress in pink and blue just like a child
And in a yellow taxi turn to me and smile
We’ll be there in just a while
If you follow me
What a bassline
theres a hemline gag in there somewhere
The great displacement has begun- we will all be replaced by models who eat every other Wednesday.
I walked through that place so many times wishing to buy something but never- it reminds me of Rory Cowan for some peculiar reason.
Love them all. Especially the suit.
Yes the suit is magic
Shure she’s just out on the town after a couple of sniffs from the Dundalk body building centre.
The outfit the model Appiok is wearing in pic 3 reminds me of an old driving coat my mother used have – similar tartan pattern.
And I thought I had seen her before from an earlier @what You’ll Be Wearing’ post: https://www.broadsheet.ie/2018/07/12/what-youll-be-wearing-next-season-39/
