Ultra Sound [Updated]

This afternoon.

The GoFundMe campaign launched on December 6th by staff at the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin to raise money to buy a new heart ultrasound machine for extremely premature babies nears €80,000.

It hoped to raise €76,500.

In fairness.

While I do love our health system, and have been well served by it over the years, that one of our primary hospitals has to make a GoFundMe for essential equipment is just criminal! And 76k is a pittance for a country like ours. Hell, it is barely more than the expenses claimed by our TDs.

But have you seen how much mad big printers cost these days though? Can’t print babies hearts, now can you?

It’s a recognition of the reality
1 fair fupping play to them for showing initiative, without this babies could die
2 couldn’t care if the money came from the Jimmy Saville foundation if it’s used for this cause
3 it’s Christmas celebrate that some people will still do their job despite the apparent lack of any sort of leadership

Yes, it is a recognition of the reality, and I do applaud them for their initiative. My point was not against the hospital, but against the system that requires them to have to use such measures.

Agreed but that being what it is and you can’t change it on your own – what can you do – you can do things like this

You have summarized the health service in a nutshell. well done

And there was Zappone sending back 60mill she couldn’t spend from her own allocation

I swear to John Fenton lads
This Country doesn’t stand a chance if it’s the likes of her that get to be Government Ministers

Donated this morning. I’m absolutely horrified by this to be honest. The little one spent so much time in the NICU in Rotunda, and the staff went above and beyond for every premature baby. It’s so shameful.

Yes how dare I feel gratitude to the staff at the Rotunda for saving my daughter’s life on more than one occasion.

Ah, we’re back to trite and unimaginative. Maybe 2020 will be your year, sweetie, though I sincerely doubt it.

            Merry Christmas.

      Beyond Bonkers Cian

Maternity care and early babies and other perinatal care in the Republic of Ireland is a mandatory State provision, regardless of the treatment needed. Or who requires it.

And here is a demonstration that it has failed to provide, and once again it’s the people, us, stepping up.

I’m not savvy enough but there are plenty who are, who can actually pinpoint the failure to provide this care within the governing statues.

      IMO anyway
There is definitely a negligence by the State
As to what exactly I’m not qualified to say for sure

      1. Ambivalent Gendered Brit

The point I made yesterday is that the assumption “the state will provide” simply isn’t backed up by evidence
Hence civic minded citizens have to just DIY

    2. GiggidyGoo

You have to go to the top of the Health Ministry to try find an answer to that. Good luck with that.

Not as much as Samson loves kittens though!

and seriously – why am I still being naughtied?
I’m being so good now. It’s Cmas! Have a heart!

You show off your idiocy with such fruitful abandon. Keep going, it’s really funny.

I’d say that industrial printer they bought themselves was so worth sacrificing of all this new medical equipment for newborn babies.

    1. Ambivalent Gendered Brit

      Why can’t we have both?

That printer is VERY important, there will be REALLY REALLY important stuff printed on it

  5. Ringsend Incinerator

Why isn’t the Government giving this to the Rotunda? Yet they can afford a fuppin massive printer.

And for consultants… check out this whingebag over his quarter of a million…. buy quite a few machines for that…

Sir, – I took up a public patient only contract in 2008 with a salary of €252,000. Eleven years later, I and all my colleagues who did so are still waiting to be paid at the agreed rate of pay. – Yours, etc,

Well… when all you dummies arrive at the next election ready to vote for the other half of this f-ing malaise… remember this… both halves of the F-f/g establishment for killing the poor(otherwise known as the unfortunate) rely.. I repeat, RELY on your stupidity and of course, like god, your donations…

Jayzus f-ing christ(if he existed) is still rolling in his grave,,

60’%-ish of voters are pathetic f-ing eejits… delibrately voting to avoid reality, outsourcing responsibility to intentionally allow themselves to be controllled by a tiny minority of genuinely guilded morons..

P.S. Giving money to the houseless directly on the street is better than complying with a dysfunctional system but I get it… 80,000 desperate sighs of hope in case it happens to you… deluded idiots investing in regression.

I do the same so I clearly f-ing know what I’m talking about,

Keep voting F-f/g regressive ideology for the already rich and powerful.
