Genuine moral question (for a friend obviously). You’re pissed. You go home with a guy. He drugs you and rapes you. You wake up. Have no idea what happened and go home. You have no ill effects. 3 years later you get a call from the police who show you a video of the incident. Your life is turned upside down. Shocked, violated, humiliated. Some of the guys have had their lives absolutely and totally ruined. They may never recover. Would it not have been better to ask if people wanted to check before being given no choice of being told.

      How would this work ?
      Ring ring.Ring Ring.
      ” Good morning,sir – Manchester police here.
Just ringing to check whether or not you’d like to be told that you were raped by a feller after he drugged you on that crazy night in town a year or two ago ?
      You don’t ?
      Okay,sorry to bother you.
      Toodles “

for STD checks alone you need to know, plus I can’t help thinking you’d have soreness or maybe get a feeling something is off that you can’t place, sex your body isn’t ready for can tear and bruise
,surely the truth no matter how painful is better, then you can try deal with it appropriately,
      that would be my preference,
imagine you passed on something to someone you loved on top of all that, they may also think you cheated as well if you do and if you don’t have all the info ?

Such a sad story from Clíodhna Puirséil, an Irish girl living in that there London in the Irish Times series on visiting home for Christmas.

” Things are so much more relaxed at home than in London. I was devastated to be leaving this year. Living in a Brexit stronghold on the edge of London has destroyed me, and the only thing stopping a move back is that getting jobs and mortgages would just be too hard. My boys have lost count of how many anti-Brexit marches they’ve been on and now we have no idea what we’ll be coming home from next Christmas. Sad times. ”

Oh dear, how sad, never mind. You’re grateful to Blighty for the job and the mortgage it pays which you couldn’t get in Ireland which is why you left in the first place.
But now you want to stamp your feet and cry because those nasty Brits have voted for Brexit and you’ll have ” no idea what we’ll be coming home from next Christmas ”
Suck it up sister and listen to this tune being played on the world’s smallest violin.
    No-one likes a whinger.
    You don’t like it ?
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Ordered your Irish passport yet Charger? Were you one of the 90,000 UK people who applied last year, or were you one of the 200,000 or so who got in early up to the end of 2018?

We should have expected the next step from Varadkar wearing a poppy in the Dail…. – the normalization of the black and tans and their spies and accomplices
What next? Varadkar and Flanagan marching down by the GPO on 12th July with their Lambeg Drums? ….followed by Michilín wearing an orange sash?
Where does FF (the Republican Party?) stand on this ‘commemoration’? South East Radio may be worth a listen to this morning to see if the Blueshirt ‘Cuckoo’ Kehoe comes on to defend this. (The Pikemen will give him hell if he does)

RTE really getting hit with deaths. Just heard that Larry Gogan has died. I grew up to his show.

    Rest in peace

They really are dropping like flies, pardon the crass expression.

I also grew up listening to Larry Gogan. Another voice gone.

      RIP Larry.
