…last year the apartheid zionist regime hosted the event in Tel Aviv…the BDS movement in Ireland pleaded with RTE not to participate but they ignored them…Marty Whelan compered the event and boasted about how he was feted…

I don’t disagree with anything you said. But they are an EBU member and entitled to be there. That’s pretty much it.

Oh lighten up – lots of Irish people like the eurovision, lots of gay men like the eurovision.

Lots of Irish gay men LOVE the eurovision :)

I remember an argument wifh a musically-illiterate colleague once who smugly claimed that there were two Eurovision audiences:
    Those who watch Eurovision.
Those who watch it…but say they don’t.
He was wrong. There’s a third category:
    Those who don’t watch Eurovision!

Because Italy uses the San Remo music festival as the way to pick their entry- it’s one of the most respected music contests in the world and is where Italian music stars are made. Just look at their results since they returned to the competition- always a favourite because the songs are usually great.

We need Una Healy with a sampled “Come Out Ye Black and Tans” ditty to save us.

    We’re doomed.

I know Australia have been entered in to this “contest” for a few years now
But how did they get involved in the first place?
What is going to happen next
    The U.S.A. next year?
