Lot of anger in the UK over Smith using the lure, to get the Shinners to agree to return to Stormont, of continued investigations into British troops during the Troubles while the IRA are protected by Tony Blair’s letters of comort.
Not absolutely sure Smith will be overly disappointed at being shifted from the political graveyard of the Northern Ireland office.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him back in a similar capacity.

Smith once opined that a no-deal Brexit would be very, very bad for Norn Iron. Evidently there’s no place for someone who isn’t a glassy-eyed true believer in the Brexit as best thing since sliced bread mantra.
