Neil Armstrong on the moon, July 20th, 1969.
Correspondence published recently in the book ‘A reluctant Icon: Letters To Neil Armstrong’, to wit: a letter to the first human to set foot on the Moon from a teacher (just let that sink in for a moment) followed by Armstrong’s reply.

…so Broadsheet don’t have a monopoly on the tinfoil hatters…
Yeah, even some astronauts are conspiracy theorists.
Like Neil Armstrong – in 1994.
“Today we have with us a group of students, among America’s best. To you we say we have only completed a beginning. We leave you much that is undone. There are great ideas undiscovered, breakthroughs available to those who can remove one of the truth’s protective layers. There are places to go beyond belief. Those challenges are yours–in many fields, not the least of which is space, because there lies human destiny.”
A letter signed by Neil Armstrong would be worth a lot of money
“…from a teacher (just let that sink in for a moment)”.
– odd take; this is the only conspiracy theory that BS does subscribe to…
I myself have never subscribed to that conspiracy theory, Rob.
Or taking the p155
you are right, it was a typo :)
apologies for the confusion
Since when have teachers been immune to conspiracy theories ?
Having been there, I expect Armstrong can confirm whether the moon is flat or not.
may I recommend a decent little 70’s movie….
Capricorn One all star cast including a very young Elliott Gould and James Brolin
a yarn about the staging of a fake NASA mission to Mars
Cracking thirller, that.
Well I’m going to give a shout out for “Operation Avalanche”
And I’m even going to watch it again sometime over the weekend
great post – thanks broadsheet

… after a lot initial skepticism Space Force is actually a bit hit here,I really enjoy the whole NASA/Space thing.
Say what you like,Trump is a showman, his backdrop of the recent launch, whether you like it or not, was quite well done, really went down well here.
They might have put a man, or a dog, on the moon.. but .. no one or anything has ever got back off the mom after landing.. ever .. and that is a fact.
Wow – so you’re saying Armstrong is stil up there?
…on the mom?
Dick Whitman.
This post feels like one member of a couple lashing out and airing their dirty linen in public. Come on guys you can sort it out!
