    He also alienated a lot of people who were interested in Georgian architecture. The Society was (and still is) very pretentious and full of sillies, and people who wanted to help out were told they weren’t quite the right thing. That turned a lot of people off the preservation of Georgian buildings. They just associated the Georgian with silly billies.

    He was a true and utter gentleman with many a good tale to tell. I know the IGS nowadays can attract some twats but they are great people in there and around. He was history. He had some very interesting postcards from his mother and her friend Herr Hitler.
