And Justice For All

Chief Justice Frank Clarke (left) and Supreme Court Justice Séamus Woulfe

This evening.

The Supreme Court has released a statement concerning court member Justice Séamus Woulfe and his attendance at the Oireachtas Golf Society dinner last week.

Justice Woulfe signed off on the Covid regulations as Attorney General prior to joining the Supreme Court in July.

The statement read:

“The Supreme Court has requested former Chief Justice, Ms Justice Susan Denham, to consider certain questions arising out of the attendance of Mr Justice Seamus Woulfe at an event in the west of Ireland last week and to report her conclusions and recommendations to the Chief Justice.

“Ms Justice Denham has agreed to that request and will commence her work immediately.

“Ms Justice Denham has been asked to consider whether Mr Justice Woulfe should have accepted the invitation to dinner. In addition, whether he should, in all the circumstances, have left the hotel in the light of the situation prevailing.

“Furthermore, whether he should have attended the golf event without attending the dinner. In the context of those questions Ms Justice Denham has also been asked to consider whether there are any relevant codes of practice or guidelines and to make any recommendations in that regard which she considers appropriate.

“This non-statutory approach has been necessitated because of the fact that relevant sections of the Judicial Council Act 2019 have not yet been commenced.”

I like it. This is about as full-on as anything they’ve ever done. Oooh: I’d say it’s been some weekend for the other SC Judges. Cuggermuggering.

And again the same point- lets face it, none of that crowd are spring chickens meaning they were near all in what would be regarded as the high risk group of serous illness if not death. And yet- not a bother on them- no social distancing and shaking hands to beat the band.

But they are all intelligent educated people so one can only assume one of two things- either they are in some way medically protected from the it or, they feel there is no longer anything to be protected from.

Hard to know which but one thing is for sure- their behavior that night was very peculiar- something doesn’t add up.

Its not that complicated, these establishment types are used to doing whatever they want with no consequences whatsoever. Every now and then they go a bit too far and get called out, this is one of those occasions.

When it comes to personal health or well-being realPolithicks- I very much doubt it.

Such a gathering while everyone believing the mask bullpoo narrative did not happen.

Ok realPolithicks instead of throwing silly slurs- why do you think they were behaving in what appears to be such an irresponsible manner?

Nobody getting sick anymore is not a conspiracy- it is fact.

Even intelligent people know they are meant to stop the car in front of the white line for red lights…

“Consider whether Mr Justice Woulfe should have accepted the invitation to dinner.”

    No

“In addition, whether he should, in all the circumstances, have left the hotel in the light of the situation prevailing.”

    Yes

“Furthermore, whether he should have attended the golf event without attending the dinner.”

    Yes, if he wanted to.

Enquiry over. I’ll only charge €500.

Should the former and still warm Attorney General have alerted the organisers to their breech of recently introduced regulations

That should be in the brief
        IMO anyway

He sat back and let them all be possible law breakers

The last question, “whether he should have attended the golf event without attending the dinner” arises due to the fact he’s a member of the supreme court. The supremes are basically their own branch of government who jealousy guard their independence, and for that reason shouldn’t be palling around with TDs and ministers.

Even if there was no Covid-19 pandemic he should not have been there.

      1. Spud

The same reason any members of Government refuse to comment on his attendance… they all say they ‘have to be very careful’.

        He wasn’t.

        He can’t survive.

Everyone who attended the dinner should be relieved of whatever position they hold. They can’t be trusted to make a good decision,

Would be curious/interested to see a full list of all in attendance. Has anything been leaked/released yet?
