‘Doubts’: an extraordinary sculptural rug created over the months of lockdown in Baku by Azerbaijani textile artist Faig Ahmed.
In former Soviet republic, rug pees on you, etc.
More of Ahmed’s glitchy textiles here.

Rug on acid!
(d)rug
The borat of the workmanship truly was remarkable
Groovy!
very untidy,
Still lovely
Now would he be an Arts School graduate
Or a Master Crafts/ Trademan EK?
Textiles can be considered Fine Art,
yes we’ll executed but I’d end up going mad if that was on my floor/ wall,
reassuringly lines up desk
I know what yomake your head spin
…every time I look at this I think Gustav Klimt…always thought his paintings would look better on the floor rather than a wall…
Is it destined for some Sheik (and vac)?
I’ll get me needles.
In fairness
Given the strain the in-house Playwright’s column took today
I think it’s worth knowing if Faig Ahmed went to a fancy Art School
Or did he serve his time as an apprentice to a Master Carpet Weaver
Don’t you?
Oppss
That was meant to hang off Janie’s there
Overhead
the problem is with fancy art schools is that the teachers are often failed artists who take it out on their students or try push you in the direction they see art taking, make it personal when you don’t want them licking the back of your neck or make a disgusted face when they show you a landscape video of their girlfriends anus,
they were also some of the best days of my life but I learned a lot more working under master printers on an actual working studio and worked a lot harder ;)
where the holy mudder of ga
did you go to school
MOG altogher
btw thanks for proving my point about the Apprenticeship route to any trade/ craft/ technical skilled specialist/ profession
Actually stuck me nose into this a bit now
His stuff is out of this world
in fairness
really accomplished and acclaimed
anyway, the lad did Sculptur, and graduated from the Azerbijan Academy of Fine Arts in 2004
And was featured in Azerbijan’s tent at the Venice Biennalle by 2007
I’m no artist or the like, but that sounds pretty impressive to me
He creates these Rug Sculptures with a team of Highly Skilled Weavers in his Workshop
Studio I suppose
and he has some for sale here
https://www.artsy.net/artist/faig-ahmed/works-for-sale
I suppose if you have to ask
you can’t afford
lovely stuff
but you’d need the gaff
and the millionaire life
to really make them a part of yours
I’d throw one in my bedouin tent oasis getaway, for when I feel like charging over the dunnes on my arab stallion, after I’ll lounge around on it and a few cushions, eating fresh dates and almonds as I watch the sun set.
I read that as; Charging over to Dunnes on my arab stallion!
Into the West meets Dr Zhivago
hajaj excellent,
more like Mrs McKann’s pony
