It was a reprehensible thing to say, wishing a couple to contract a sickness that could kill them, I don’t care who it is or what their politics are, when you stoop to that level you need to really question your own thinking. By all means criticise their actions or words, but wishing a disease is pathetic.

We just need to accept that a lot of overweight 74-year-olds who don’t exercise and mainline Diet Coke daily are going to catch this virus. His actions endangered many. I think his intention was to do whatever he felt was in his own interest whether or not people died unnecessarily. He doesn’t care.
He could have asked his supporters to wear masks instead he mocks people who do and says it’s just a flu that affects very few people.
The man is literally hosting crowded rallies where people aren’t wearing masks or observing any social distancing. Herman Caine died from Covid-19 a couple weeks after attended a Trump rally that was not socially distanced where masks were not worn.
It is clear that this president insists on making many decisions and that others in his administration are afraid to disagree with him. He has done more to endanger lives during Covid-19 than anyone in America and I don’t care that he has it and I won’t shed a tear if it kills him.

I can’t imagine he has been much of a father to Baron his only actual child. When Donald Jr. and Ivana suggested the name Donald Sr’s response was “what if he is a loser?”. Most despots have or had kids. Kim Jong-Un is believed to have 3.
And if you want to be accurate he undermined mask wearing from the first day it was recommended by his health officials. He doesn’t wear one when he has close contact with people or ask them to which is how he got it from Hope Hicks. He was still mocking Joe Biden for wearing a mask as recently as the first debate.
The first, and one of very few times he has been seen wearing a mask was in July.
He said in an interview in July that he is favour of masks and he posted 1 tweet. Has he said it any other time? He has said many more negative things about masks. This not showing support for mask wearing. It is minimal lip-service and came at a time when he was being heavily criticised for saying masks don’t work.
Speaking of simple human decency, apparently they never informed the Biden campaign about the positive test results – they learned about it from news reports.

One could argue that Trump’s diagnosis may shape his and/or the American government’s approach to the pandemic. That would impact many people’s lives. If one were to predict that to be a positive impact, then why would they not admit to being happy?

It was a particularly nasty thing to say. It’s exactly this type of attitude from leftists and progressives that will see Trump get a 2nd term. Undecided voters make up a significant part of the electorate and this sort of callousness will push them over to Trumps side in a kind of sympathy vote.
