This thing with the temperature guns!!! It’s theatre full stop. Such nonsense.
If you are running a temperature above 37.8 you are not well to the point of you not swaning about in public in fact you more than likely can’t get off the sofa.
When I had Covid19 I ran a temperature of 38.8 celsius and I couldn’t get out of bed. I recovered in a few days you’ll be relived to hear dear reader.
You simply can’t walk about like you’re grand and be running a fever temperature because you won’t be feeling grand. You will be knackered.
Also lets say you get ‘temperature gunned’ somewhere (at work, airport etc) and it bleeps that you have a fever temperature (unlikely as you’re not likely to be walking around without a care in the world) what happens then?? Go away you’re really sick? will I call you an ambulance? Hold on there while I get a containment unit to lock you up?… ??
    This is optics
    and
    It’s
    nonsense

      Exactly Frank.

I’ve raised a similar question with some clients who have brought in temp checks at their buisnesses.

What is your policy for dealing with someone who has a temp? Is it logged, are the authorities / HSE notified, do you tell them away from other as not to cause an issue in front of other members of the public? What are the GDPR ramifications of logging medical data (temps) with personal data? Where is the data stored etc?

It’s all very poorly thought through – and as you say complete Security Theatre.

        It’s simple:

        1. take person’s temperature before they enter
2.a. if temperature is below threshold, let them in
2.b. if temperature is above threshold, don’t let them in

No logging, no authorities, no HSE, no GDPR.

If you have a fever, you can’t come in.
