So many ‘PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS’.
No action or reaction…
Same as it ever was…
…which is the same as it never was

So sorry to hear this. Read his book when it came out when I was 16, put me off the church completely. It was harrowing.

Unfortunately I wonder how much things have really changed with religious fundamentalist teachers and doctors in positions of power. And the religious control of state infrastructure, primarily education and medical. And the outsourcing of the delivery of state services to religious controlled ‘charities’
+ infinity
Paddy was one of those brave people like Michael O’Brien and the late Peter Tyrell . It is because of people like those brave men that we had that brilliant account by Mary Raftery ‘States of Fear’ that prompted much delayed government action – even if we still are fighting for justice and recognition.
Knowing Paddy as I did so well for many years I can guarantee you he’s still holding court from the luxury of a fluffy rug on the floor. We had many conversations over a cuppa or a bottle with friends and colleagues. Paddy will always be remembered for his courage in speaking out; to his constant companion wife Eileen and beloved sons and grandchildren those of us who walked a path with him for a while send our deepest condolences,
RIP
A truly great Irishman
